JAKOB

Dear au pair, we are a small German-Danish family living in Cologne (Germany) very centrally in the Ehrenfeld district, which is very popular with both young people and families because of the many opportunities it offers. We are looking for an au pair - preferably with Danish as native language or with good knowledge of German - who wants to become part of our little family, share our life and help us in our daily routines so we can all spend more quality time together. Jakob is 5 years old and growing up bilingual with Danish and German as mother tongue. Jakob attends kindergarten during the day, so there will be plenty of time for your personal activities. We encourage you to take German courses in your free time and support you with a financial contribution. In the morning you would help Jakob with breakfast and getting ready for kindergarten, which he attends from around 8 a.m. In the afternoon, around 3:30 p.m., you would pick up Jakob from kindergarten and keep yourself busy with him. Jakob loves spending time with his friends, being outdoors or playing at home. Jakob is very creative and can also occupy himself very well. But he also likes to be active and loves to cook, bake or play soccer together. During the day we would be happy if you would help us with light domestic tasks, such as keeping especially the kitchen and Jakob's room in order or emptying the washing machine. Jakob sleeps around 7:30 pm. His dad would occasionally like to go to sports or meet with friends in the evening as a balance to work. Of course, free evenings or days are also available to you by arrangement. We have a large, bright apartment centrally located in the popular Ehrenfeld district of Cologne, surrounded by many cosy cafes, small shops and a large park that invites you for lovely walks and sport activites. You have your own room with access to a large roof terrace and a great view of the trees. There is also a private bathroom. There are many nice neighbours in our direct neighbourhood, including families with children the same age as Jakob, who he likes to play with in the playground in front of the house. We are an active family and enjoy spending time with friends and family. On the weekends we like to go on outings, spend time in the woods feeding the animals or making ourselves comfortable at home.
