FRIENDLY VANCOUVER FAMILY LOOKING FOR AN AU PAIR
Hello/Bonjour au pairs!

We are a friendly/outgoing bilingual (french/english) family with a little boy who will turn 2 in August 2019. We are originally from the east coast of Canada but have been calling Vancouver, BC home for over 10 years now.

We currently have an au pair from Germany and we are having a great experience so far- we love how we get to know about her culture and traditions and we love sharing ours as well so we thought we would try it again!

We live just outside of Vancouver, in North Vancouver- the mountains and forests are in our backyard and we love it. In our free time we like to hike, ski, go camping and traveling. We like to cook/eat healthy and stay active- we are hoping to find an au pair who will fit right in with our lifestyle :) Someone who can take our boy our for walks, play in the park but also take part in social events locally and do arts & crafts. Someone who enjoys cooking would be a plus!

We are open minded and open with communication which we believe is important when living with an au pair.

Being both french and english, we speak both languages at home- we would love an au pair who is interested in doing the same :)

The main duties expected from the au pair that we hire is to take care of our son: feed him, play with him, read to him, take him to the library, out for walks/hikes, the park, take him out to social places where he can interact with other kids, do some crafts etc. When there is time during the day, we might ask to help prep some food for dinner or lunches, grocery shopping and keep the house tidy.

My spouse and I both have home offices and travel for work so sometimes we might both be at home and may be able to help out with certain things but we might also both be away overnight which would require the au pair to care for our son overnight (estimating 2 nights/month). The schedule will mostly be from 8am-4pm but since our days vary with travel etc, we will require some flexibility around that schedule. We might ask to care for our son for a night or two over the weekend if we want to get away (depending on the au pair availability of course).

By staying with us, you will get exposure to both the french and english Canadian cultures as we speak both languages. We live in a modern home in a safe, beautiful neighbourhood that is walking distance to several amenities (grocery store, restaurants, coffee shops, pool, library) and tons of hiking/walking trails as well as ski hills just a short drive away. Our neighbours on each side also have children the same age as our son which makes it convenient for play dates etc.

You would have your own private space in our home with bathroom, small kitchenette and living area (shared entrance with us).

Looking forward to hearing from you!
