ZAMIR, 29 YEARS

I come from a conservative yet a modern background where I learned core values such as honor, responsibility, respect, compromise, humbleness, dedication, altruism and compassion. I feel really lucky that I had the education I did because it helped me to see more clearly the line between good and evil, allowing me to contrast from the way other people of my age were living. Instead of being carried away by the distractions of the system I could focus on things that are way more rewarding like helping the needy, family work, professional preparation and so on.
In my family we are five people, my parents, my two brothers and I. We are a really affective family and we always take care of each other. I am a middle child and lately I am living just with my mom because my father works in another state and he comes home every 28 days and stays just 21. My brothers, both got married already and moved out of the house but yet live close enough to come visit almost every day, we are really close and we just love each other too much. It’s not like we never have problems or fights, actually we have been through a lot but luckily we have overcome all of that and got out stronger and more united. Living almost alone with my mom is quite fun because I enjoy being like the “only child”, but I also have the responsibilities of an only child. That’s because my dad always taught us to help my mom with the house chores so while my mom works in the store I am on charge of the house and sometimes I have to do the cleaning, the laundry, and cook (thing for which I turned out to be surprisingly good at). That’s why I don’t think I’d have problems doing house chores or living just with one parent, I mean I was raised in that way.
My interests, I think, are pretty minimalist because I like simple things like reading and writing, cinematography, music, dancing, scenic arts, exercising, nature and going to church. I also like going to parks, going hiking and camping but I am nothing near to a boy scout or a ranger. I am about to finish my major in Industrial Relations but now I would like to develop a bit my artistic part taking dancing classes and creative writing courses because I dream with becoming a famous writer.
Regarding my experience with kids, well, I have been working on summer camps for the last couple of years and I’ve been assigned as the Guide of groups up to 15 kids. My job with them has consisted on taking care of them and leading and coordinating all their activities according to the camp’s program. This experience has taught me to learn from each kid’s story and getting to understand that although they are “children” they have a lot to teach to a grown up.
