ABOUT ME "JAMES" FROM THAILAND
My name is Tanapon Sirithammakhun, you can call me James. I am 23 years old, from Bangkok, Thailand. I have over 4,500 hours of childcare experience as a tutor, a social worker and a babysitter. ✏️ I have a bachelor's degree in Learning Sciences and Education with a concentration in Technology, Design, and Learning Innovation at Thammasat University. During my studies, I participated in a project that created a variety of learning media for children such as Popup art, cartoon animation, board games, and coding games. Now I'm a freelance tutor and a babysitter. ✏️ I live in Bangkok with my aunt, grandfather, younger brother, and our dog named Oro. My mom lives in another house. When I visited her, we cooked and planted the garden together. I currently provide elder care for my grandfather because he is unable to do some daily tasks on his own. I drive to a department store to shop with my family on a weekly basis. ✏️ I have over 4,500 hours of childcare experience. ✏️ During high school, I worked as a freelance tutor for children from the first grade to the eleventh grade. For example, one of the parents hired me to teach their daughter, N'Fasai, both Thai and English from Monday to Friday. When I was preparing my teaching materials, I tried to mix a game for my class to assist her in focusing more on the lesson I taught. It worked great! I was selected as a Thai students' representatives on Brand's Admission Reality which was the top educational program. My main duties are helping students to become educational thought leaders and providing counseling assistance. For example, here is a video of me tutoring N’Bee to prepare for her exams. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BEufdpTSk8&t=683s) ✏️ During university, I babysat children from 3-10 years old. I worked part-time for two years at the Open House Bookshop and Playground at Central Embassy, one of the most popular international shopping malls in Thailand. My priority for all my actions and activities with the children was their safety. For example, when children wanted to use the sliding board, I observe the child climb the stairs, and then wait at the bottom of the slide to ensure they make it down safely. When small children use the slide, my colleagues and I work as a team, one would escort the children up the stairs, while the other would wait at the bottom of the slide. Working at the Central Embassy taught me how to help children to have fun and be safe at a playground while their parents took a well deserved break. ✏️ After my graduation, I helped raise my nephew, who is 11 months old, at my brother's house from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. during weekdays. My responsibilities included feeding, playing, bathing, and changing clothes for him. My nephew loved eating thinly sliced tomatoes as a snack before taking his bottle. He liked to have some fun with a lot of toys. He slept for 1-2 hours when he was tired. In the evening, I washed all of his toys and bottles. At 7 p.m., his parents came home and would take him to sleep for the night. It was a fantastic experience to learn everything about baby care. ✏️ Earlier 2021, I was a child social worker at Childline Foundation. I worked with children from newborn to 18 years old. The majority of children there are either orphans or homeless. My responsibilities were making sure that they were well fed and clean. I did a variety of activities with them such as baking doughnuts, cooking salads, drawing, and playing soccer. I taught math and social science every Sunday for children ages above 15 years old. Additionally, I have to manage and deal with some serious issues such as a child committing a stealing crime. This situation has given me the ability to negotiate and to have a strong mind. ✏️ Now, I'm continuing working as a tutor and a babysitter for a family of two children, Kuma 6 years, and Kin, 4 years. I'm assisting them with their online learning by helping them on their assignments. During the breaks and after class, I would play with them or do outdoor activities together such as rollerblading, cycling and badminton. I also teach them a lesson on making games by coding in the ScratchJr and the Microsoft MakeCode Arcade program. ✏️ In order to understand best practices of US childcare, I obtained a certificate from the PennState Better Kid Care program. The program introduced me to English childcare vocabulary which I can use to communicate more clearly with my host family. It also makes me qualified to work in daycare centers in many US states. I have a First Aid certificate from the Chula Mooc at Chulalongkorn University and a Design Space Explorer (Coding Game) certificate from the Microsoft MakeCode. ✏️ I am punctual, creative, polite, and most importantly, I am a person who cares about the little things and likes to work with children. I have my personality test called "MBTI" which indicates that I am a Protagonist who is genuine, caring, and loves to motivate other people to do the right things. For my hobbies, I used to play sports with my buddies. Badminton and basketball are two of my favorite sports. Moreover, I received a silver medal in a school tournament. I also enjoy swimming. It helps me feel calm and strong. I am a huge fan of cooking. I enjoy trying new international recipes and creating fusion dishes by combining Thai and Western cuisines. I enjoy singing and binge-watching Netflix programs. It helps me relax. Of course, I enjoy traveling with my family and friends. I have a YouTube channel where I post vlogs about education, lifestyle, and travel. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzsVPl928dhlPyrPku3Md_w/videos I love and specialize in video editing. I can write stories, set up the equipment, direct a scene for video shooting or live streaming. I think that my favorite hobbies would be useful as an au pair for your family and hope that your children will like it too. ✏️ I think the au pair program is a good opportunity for me to learn another culture and improve my English skill. When I come back to Thailand, I would like to apply for a job at an International school and create educational games for children. I believe that a successful au pair experience with a host family recommendation would look great on my resume. ✏️ Please, give me a chance to be your Au pair and become a part of your family. I will do my best to take care of your children. Thank you so much my future host family ✏️ Best Regards, James
