KANNIKA, 27 YEARS

Dear Host family, First, let me introduce myself. My name is Kannika Hiranrat, but you can call me Aem. My family has four members, my father, mother, my older brother and I. My hometown is in Lamphun, Thailand but now I live in Lampang, Thailand alone after I graduated from university. My University is located in Lampang Province in the North of Thailand. I grew up in lovely family. My parents are gardeners so we have our own farm in Lamphun. Since I was young, I always helped my parents in the garden. I love growing plants so much. Now when I have free time, I go back home to help them. My brother is 38 years old now and he works with my parents. When we were young, my brother and I always played together. We loved to play outdoors such as fishing, flying kites, climbing trees, swimming and many adventurous things. In the present, I’m 24 years old. I graduated from University in the faculty of English education, Lampang Rajabhat University almost a year ago. After I graduated, I worked as an English tutor for 4 months. Now I have been working as English teacher At Boonyawat Wittayalai School in Lampang for 6 months. I have experience working with children 1-7 years old from when I was a pre-teaching student in school for the last year of University. I used to help my aunt take care of her 3-month-old daughter for 5 months while my aunt was in the hospital. My dream is to be a school teacher and travel around the world. Therefore, I want to apply to this au pair job. I deeply want have more experience about taking care of the children. After I go back to Thailand, I will teach my students with understanding. I want to improve my English skills, too. I love to learn by doing. I always tell myself that no one succeeds by doing nothing.I’m very friendly with others, easy going, love to learn new things, and I’m hard working. My hobbies are reading books, outdoor activities, playing sports, growing plants, feeding pets, drawing pictures (I have loved drawing since I was young) and cooking. I love cooking Thai food so much and I can do it well because I used to work a part-time job in a traditional Thai food restaurant for 4 years when I was 15 years old. Finally, I think taking care of a baby to grow up as a good adult is like when we are growing plants. We cannot just only grow it but we have to take good care of it. If we water it with only water, when it grows up, it will not be as beautiful as other plants because it needed something more than only water. That is love, understanding and time, just like babies.
