PHIANGPHIN, 30 YEARS

Dear future host family,

I am so happy to know that you are interested in my profile. My name is Phiangphin Mongkhonjaroen, but you can call me Kukkik. I am 27 years old and would love the opportunity to get to know you more.

I live with my beloved family in Pathumtani, which is the province next to Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. I am active, easy-going, calm, responsible, and cheerful. Moreover, I am open-minded and love to learn new things.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Science with a first-class honors degree in Clinical Psychology from Kasetsart University. I graduated in May 2017. During this time, I was able to understand, befriend and meet many different people, and improve my people skills while studying. I studied child development, including how children’s brains develop and also their physical development as well. I also got a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) in July 2020.
My family consists of 3 members, my mom, my older brother, and me. My dad passed away 24 years ago. Our family is affectionate, when we gather together, we always talk about how our day has been. My mom is retired and my older brother is an engineer.
I have many lovely friends; we support each other and listen when someone has a problem. We enjoy going to museums and exhibitions. We love to do activities with children and also help at the Buddhist temple.
In my free time, I love to make craftworks such as design a book cover with paper, molding plates, and paper mache. I also love to cook simple Thai food dishes.
I love dogs but I am allergic to cats, even though they are super cute.
I have a full Thai driving license and I am confident in my driving skills. I have been driving for more than 5 years and have never had an accident. I am also First Aid and CPR trained from a course that I took here in Thailand. This course also includes infant and child First Aid and CPR. The reason I took this course was because it made me feel much more confident when taking care of children.
I love to volunteer with my friends. Some of the events I have volunteered at are; ‘BTS kids camp’ - a camp that organizes activities for children during school holidays. The activities in the camp were to allow children to learn things around them, such as simple science experiments and fun social activities. The activities promoted developments for children such as social development, physical development, and cognitive development.
I have over 500 hours total of childcare experiences, many of this time was while working at Kid-D Nursery. There are 10 children, aged between 8 months & 10 years old. My responsibilities were to feed them at both lunch and snack time, feed milk with a bottle, shower and dress them, change diapers, take them for a nap, play with them, and read bedtime stories. In addition, we also had other activities, for example Father's Day card decoration, baking cookies, and making Krathongs from bread for the Loy Krathong Festival we celebrate here in Thailand. I am impressed by a girl named Nicha, she is 4 years old. I taught her to get dressed herself, it makes me so happy to see her develop.
Additionally, I babysit a 6 years-old girl during school holidays on the day her parents went to work. This totalled for around 300 hours of experience. My jobs included helping her to shower, preparing her lunch and snacks, many playful exercise activities, playing together at home, and also helping her with her homework.
The reason why I would like to be an Au pair. Firstly, I love to be with children. I love to take care of them, do activities, and have fun with them. I like to see children grow up and support them as they do. I am confident that I can take good care of children and keep them very happy. Secondly, the Au pair program is an opportunity to develop myself. This is a chance for me to improve my English skill and possibly learn a third language. I have been to Europe before and I loved the weather, the clean cities and how the people were very disciplined. It made me want to visit again and stay for longer. I would like to have a new experience, explore European culture and lifestyles more, and also share my culture with my host family. When I come back to Thailand, I want to study more about child psychology and work in that field.
