MY PROFILE
Short 'Dear Family' letter
Present yourself briefly.
Dear Family, Hello!
My name is Suwida and I am writing to introduce myself and tell you why i would like to become an au pair and why I would be a perfect match with your family.
My official name is Suwida, but you can call me “ Ploy “ as this is my nickname given to me by my parents. I’m 23 years old and I live in Bangkok,Thailand. I live there with my parents and my siblings in our shared family house.
My family consists of 5 people: my father, my mother, my sister, my brother and me. My sister’s names is Title, she’s 25 years old and is currently working as a receptionist in a hostel in Krabi. My brother’s name is Kenta, he’s 19 years old and he is a high school student who loves sport. Sometimes we argue about silly things, but usually we get along really well and we help each other with almost everything. My parents own a garment company and I’m really close to both of my parents in different situation. My mother,my sister and myself always have some girl time together. This usually means that we go for shopping, do our nails or find some nice place for a coffee and some small talk.
With my father I love to have conversation about history, politics and news. I would say that I have a wonderful relationship with both my parents and that they are incredible parents, who gave me a wonderful childhood and adolescent experience. My parents 100 percent support my choice of being an au pair. They think it's good to take a gap year and explore a new culture, learn a new language and in the process become a more independent person.
My father comes from a big family with ten siblings. As a result I have 31 first cousins. So I’m really used to havings kids around me.
About you
Describe your own person, family, formation, experience abroad / with children and hobbies.
So what am I like?
My family, friends and peers always describe me as a warm hearted, easy-going, helpful, humourous and enthusiastic person. I’m a passionate and ambitious young woman. I have a lot of plans for my future. I want to become a children and adolescent psychologist one day, because of my incredibly strong passion with kids. One of my main hobbies is photography, I love to capture memories by taking a photo. Even though a picture makes no sound and there is no movement in it itself, one picture can hold so many meanings. Recently I also pick up cooking as a hobby and I absolutely love it. I would say cooking is an art where I can express my creativity. Apart from that I also really like sports and I can play different kinds of both indoor and outdoor sports. I have been swimming since childhood and once I used to be part of the official swimming team for my school.
I also did high jump, badminton, yoga and fitness. During the last few years I discovered Crossfit which I absolutely love doing. In my spare time I like to watch videos on youtube, reading new books and catch up with my friends as well as meeting new people.
More about me,I graduated with a bachelor in medicine. As of now I am planning to take a gap year from work and study. I can speak three languages fluently. Thai (my mother tongue) English (average) and Chinese (basic) I would love to learn dutch as my fourth language.
The past year I have been working in a hospital in Thailand as an Intern doctor. During my rotations I came in contact with a lot of kids. Besides this I have been doing alot of volunteer work with children and adolescents during my study time. The volunteer work I did was taking care of the mental health of children and providing moral support for their families. For example, me and my team would create an activity for children who live in a orphanage house like drawing, dancing and sport games.
Why you would like to work as an au pair?
Explain why you wish to become an au pair abroad to take care of children.
First of all, I love kids and I know how to deal with them and how to make them having a blast moment with me. Being an au pair will give me the opportunity to do the things I love and will allow me to explore a new culture, learn a new language and meet new people along the way. I’m sure that if you choose me as your new au pair, we would have a great time together and I hope this letter would give you some idea about me and what I am like. I think I could be the right person to take care of your children
I would love to hear from you soon!
With kind regards,
Suwida
