A SWEET BIG SISTER IS LOOKING FOR A HOST FAMILY IN EUROPE
Dear famiy,

Thank you for considering my profile and reading my letter. I hope you find me interesting and wish to contact me. My name is Wipawan Seankla. You can call me by my nickname; Noi. I am 24 years old. I am interested in Europe and want to become an Au Pair there in order to learn more about its culture and people better.

I am currently working at Kidzania, Bangkok, responsible for child development section, where children get to learn day-to-day and social skills. I’ve been working here for 1 month years already and enjoy every single bit of it as my clients are children from all over the world. I got to expose to international experiences and practice my English language speaking as the same time.

My family is doing business in the field of agriculture. We are not only producing and selling agricultural products, but also improving the quality and conserving the eco-system at the same time. Due to this reason, I decided to study in the field of agriculture, majoring in Integrated Pest management at Kasetsart University. What I studied is all about prevention of Eco-system (ecology) of insect pests from being destroyed and to keep human food and agricultural resources from chemical contamination and diseases.
I am very independent and can live by myself because I left my family at young age to live with my aunt in the north of Thailand. Then again when I entered university in Bangkok, I lived by myself all along. When I miss my family, I usually contact them by phone or Skype, however, I am not afraid of being by myself abroad in unfamiliar environment, in contrast; it could be rather fun and exciting as everything is very new to me so every single day is learning. It’d be very exciting and fun to live in a country where culture, people and language is totally different from mine.

Surin, is my hometown, situated in the northeast of the country. Our family consist of 5 people; my parents (They are both teachers), grandmother, an older sister, a younger brother and I. My sister was married and moved out. My younger brother is a university student. We are simple living, harmonious, supportive family. We like open communication and have respect for each other.

While I was studying in a university, I was very active and joined in different volunteering development camps as well as belonged to a club called Mashroom, whose all members visited local communities to educate the local to cultivate mashrooms and processed them into food by different methods. Most importantly, I got involved in a Royal Project, which is the initiative of His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej, selling agricultural products from the north of Thailand. Apart from that I also took a part-time job, working at McDonald to earn some money during academic years.

Childcare experience; I trained at Nursery Surin Sugar Company limited. The work was 6-8 hours a day from Monday to Friday. Altogether I collected 350 hours of childcare experience. There I taught them recognition skill, counting numbers, date/month/years, Manners for daily life, fairytales, basic skills like how to eat by themselves, how to get dressed, how to clean up toys and make their bed. After the training, I came to learn so much about children emotions and how to handle with them. I learned about children health care and prevention of illness or diseases, including teaching techniques that work best on children. When children become out of control and don’t listen to me, I will separate him or her for a private talk by using logic at the same time listen to what they have to say, why they behave that way, if he/she need extra attention, I will assign them a role in order to get them involved in an activity as much as possible.
Concerning skills, I am able to do vacuum cleaning, dishes, general cleaning and preparing food and other kind of housecleaning. I can care for pets as well. I have 2-year experience in driving with an international driving license. I can speak 3 different languages; Thai, English and Chinese.

Interests; I am a huge nature lover so when I have some free time I plant trees or just get myself busy with planting or gardening. Else, I enjoy reading books, watching documentaries, and practice meditation and yoga. The hobbies bring peace to my mind and a good mental health. Besides, I love traveling so much which is the way I learn about life and gain knowledge about the world. I visited countries like Cambodia and Laos. Cambodia is full of interesting architecture, old cities and busy street and lifestyle. For Laos, it’s a rather peaceful, traditional, full of valuable heritages and kind people.

The motivation behind decision to become an Au Pair is that I realized I am pretty shy person, so I want to boost my confidence by leaving my comfort zone to live in another country where I must learn to adapt and survive in new culture and environment. Childcare is what I am certain of doing as I have a kind personality and tremendous patience so I can handle children very well in all kinds of situations. Lastly, Europe has such incredibly wonderful landscape and fascinating culture which I want to explore, It’s going to feel like dream comes true to be living there.

After I’ve gained international experience and connection with people from overseas I plan to set up an eco-tourism business in my hometown, bringing tourists to experience local ways of life and to learn and practice agricultural methods, in order to promote Thai culture and eco-system protection. And, What I want from a future host family is that they treat me well and take Au Pairing as a cultural exchange program.

Thank you for taking your time reading this long letter. I hope you find me interesting and want to get in contact with me. Hope to hear from you.

Sincerely Yours,
Noi
