CLARA, 25 YEARS

Dear family,
My name is Clara and I am 18 years old, but I will be 19 in April. I am half Spanish and half English, so I am fluent in both languages. I am from England as I was born in Manchester, United Kingdom and lived there for 11 years. However, I am currently living in Spain, as I moved to Madrid after completing primary school in the UK and have been living in Spain for the past 7 years, however during one of these years (2015-2016) I studied and lived in the USA as an exchange student for a year in Traverse City, Michigan.
In addition, I am currently studying International Relations at University in Madrid, as my goal is to work in an International organization or an NGO. However, I am also a part time nanny/english teacher to a 6 year old.
As you have probably noticed, I am quite an international personal, as I have lived in 3 countries and I love to travel and meet new people from different countries, as well as experiencing new cultures and learning new languages. Therefore, I have friends from all over the world, such as China, Thailand, Ireland, England, Scotland, Spain, Italy, France, Denmark, Germany, USA, Canada, Venezuela, Ecuador, Argentina, Colombia, Dominican Republic and South Africa.
Moreover, I have travelled to many countries and my dream is to travel all over the world, as well as to learn new languages including French, Italian, German, Russian and Arabic. I have studied French for many years, but I stopped studying it a few years ago so I have forgotten quite a lot, but I would like to learn it again.

I consider myself to be very independent, creative, open-minded, sensible, polite, responsible, I have a great sense of humour and I love to laugh and smile. I am also trustworthy, kind, very caring and affectionate. I am always up for trying new things and I can adapt to different circumstances very easily. I am very easy to talk to as I am quite a chatterbox and I believe communication is very important in order to maintain a good relationship. I have a lot of patience with children and babies and I am always coming up with new ideas for games and activities to entertain them.

I currently live with my parents, and my younger brother, who is 15. My mother is Spanish and my father is English.

Some of my hobbies include dancing, singing, travelling (as I have mentioned before), painting, drawing, reading, photography, going to art exhibitions, watching movies, spending time with my family and friends, and I love spending time outdoors in both the beach and the countryside, as well as in big cities and small towns.

I have had lots of experience with children both in my country and abroad, as I have looked after my brother (when he was younger) and my younger cousins many times, and during my time in the US, I would look after my two younger host siblings (who were 2 and 5 years old at the time). Also, as I have previously mentioned, I am working as a part time nanny/English teacher two days a week. So, I am very used to being around children and looking after them, which I very much enjoy.
Finally, the main reasons why I want to work as an au pair abroad is because I believe it is a great opportunity to meet new people who will be like a second family, experience a new culture and learn a new language as well as teaching any of my two languages required by being part of a family, and I believe being an au pair gives the opportunity of doing all of this, as well as creating unforgettable memories.
