ABOUT MYSELF.
I am currently Au Pairing at a family in Belgium.
Since the day I was born I always had a very caring side especially when it came to children. I have 5 sister, 2 are older than me and 3 are younger. Since I can remember I woke up on my own for school and used to wake my sister too. I packed her and my own lunch for school every day. Due to circumstances I grew up very independent when it came to self-care. I am much more mature than people my age, my older sisters had a big impact on that because I am very close to them.
In 2010 my youngest sister was born. I then discovered I have a very nurturing side. When I was just 10 years old I used to help my mom feed her and put her to sleep. It was an activity which I enjoyed. Till this day I make lunch for her when she gets home from primary school.
My mom is Afrikaans and my Dad is English which means I am bilingual. I am fluent in Afrikaans and English. Due to me living in such a big family with different dynamic homes, I am very adaptable to changes. I get along with most personalities and I do not have temper issues. I prefer to get up early every morning to get my daily tasks done. When I start something I usually finish it. I am organised, I prepare my meals for the week on Sundays evenings. I am very routine focused and I am never late.
I try to exercise as much as possible because I am very energetic and love to keep fit. I am disciplined person and can practise self-control. My family always calls me the healthy one. I don’t get ill often. Most of the time I am in a good mood and I try to stay away from any form of conflict. People always tell me I’m a very gentle person but I’m also not a run over. I am confident and because of my public speaking I do not struggle to speak in front of people.
I don’t have a narrow vision about life. I do not agree that I have to follow the norm. I want to see and experience things. There is no better way for me to start my journey than taking care of children in different countries, because that will mean that I will do something that I love every day. If I get an opportunity to go overseas to Au Pair I would do the best I can and do everything to the fullest. In the future I am planning to work with children. I still want to go to university but I first want to postpone it to pick up some experience.
