DEVIE, 31 YEARS

Dear Future Host Family, Hello! My name is Devie, 28 y/o and a Filipina. My parents are both farmers. I am the eldest among the three (3) siblings. I have 1 sister and 1 brother. I graduated as a teacher. I believe I am responsible enough to be with the kids. As an eldest, I helped out in taking care of my siblings and looked after with my brother who is 3 years old when my mother left us to work for another family. When I was in college, I was a nanny of the family who has an autistic child 15years old and a 2 years old grandson. In return of my hard works, they send me to school. Also, I helped in the household chores like doing laundry, wash the dishes, and prepare food for the family. I am not good in cooking but I am grateful for the family that I had because of them I learn many things such as cooking a delicious viand. I have an exposure to diverse young learners during my practice teaching. I wanted to become an au pair because I want to help the family in taking care of kids and doing light household chores. Also, to experience the exchange culture. You can expect me that, sharing all my learning to the kids, will treat them like my own siblings, tutor them, playing, bonding the kids all the time and cook Filipino foods.
