MARK JOSEPH, 26 YEARS

Dear Future Host Family,

This is Joseph, 23, from the Philippines. I am currently the foster parent of my twin nieces for 6 years after their single mom, my sister, went abroad to work and provide for her family. Since then, I am in charge of their day-to-day lives from cooking their meals, ironing their clothes, doing their laundries, and tutoring them during weekends. While doing these, I was able to graduate college last 2018 earning my degree in communications with 5 academic awards and extra-curricular distinctions during my whole collegiate journey. Without wasting time, 3 days after earning my degree, I was able to launch a career in marketing focusing on creatives, events management, and social media, in an international footwear brand.

On my free time, I and my now 16 years old twin nieces cook different local dishes for our lunch. They help me gather and cut the ingredients as I teach them how to cook the dish. If the weather is good, I sometimes go out and play volleyball and/or badminton with my best friends since high school. As most of the people know, the Philippines is visited by an average of 20 strong typhoons every year. Whenever there's a calamity, I together with my best friends, organizes donation drives to help the affected families that are in need of food and drinking water.

I know that finding a family that will accept a male Au Pair is hard and this is the reason why I become more motivated because I will do everything to get that 1 spot. I will work hard to not disappoint the family who’ll give me that single chance and I'll always be exceptionally grateful with the opportunity to be welcomed.
