KATRINA, 26 YEARS

A peaceful greeting!
As a highly compassionate and dedicated person, I am writing to express my interest in becoming your Au pair. I have long
admired Au Pair Program in connecting Cultural Exchange between the host family and the au pair. To start with, my name
is Katrina (Kat for short) 23 yrs. of age from Philippines. I live with my mother and two nieces. I have two siblings and I am
the youngest. I am a graduate of
Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Biological Sciences. I have taught students with middle ages with the subjects of
Science and Health.
I joined the au pair program because it’s a great opportunity to do both something that I want. I love children and enjoy
spending time with them. I do really admire their endless energy, honesty, creativity, flexibility and resiliency.
Furthermore, I do have other experience in childcare aside from teaching. Though I do not have a childcare certificate, I
was able to take care of my nieces since they live with us when they were toddlers.
The tasks I have performed includes:
 changing of diapers,
 feeding,
 dressing up,
 playing,
 preparing lunch box and snacks for school,
 helping them in taking a bath,
 walking to school, and helping with home works.
In my degree and experience, I have acquired best practices to understand the tasks of being an Au pair. I could humbly
say that I am prepared and well aware that being like a big sister for your children comes along with big responsibilities.
As a teacher, it gave me an understanding in handling difficult situations when it comes to children and with managing
instances. I would be glad to be an Au pair of my future family host wherein I could not only take care of the children but
also teach them academically. In terms of doing some household chores it won’t be a problem for me as I grow up helping
at home. I want to be an Au Pair because it is a great opportunity for me to be able to do what I love and learn something
new at the same time. I will also be gladly to share my culture and will make sure to be a good au pair and a member of
your family in the future.
Living with me is really easy as I am just a typical person -- I do not have allergies with food and animals. I am fond of dogs
as I consider them as stress reliever and really cute. During my free time, I love watching documentaries because it
increases my curiosity and sometimes I hang out with friends or either I just sleep to recharge my energy. I also love
photography and aspirant of doing vlogs. I do respect that the house is your house and that I have to follow your house
rules. If something works not quite as it should, I prefer to talk instead of ignoring things. I do expect that in my first weeks
of living with a new environment might be a big adjustment but I am sure that I will adapt to the daily routine quickly and
become a big help for you.
