SHEILLA, 28 YEARS

Dear host family, My name is Sheilla, I am 26 years old and I come from Uganda. I come from a family of 6 children and I am the 5th born. I have 3 nieces and 3 nephews who are all under the age of 14 years. My Father is a retired engineer and my mother is a business owner and a farmer. My parents are both living in our family home in Mbale district which is 224.8 kilometers from Kampala the capital city of Uganda where I am currently living with my eldest sister and her family. She has 3 children. There names are Edward who is 12 years old, Elijah who is 10 years old and Avril who is 3 years old. I started living with my sister from the year 2010 but not full time because I was in boarding school so I would be with her family every holiday. I have watched the boys grow up and helped care for them during the time of school holidays. My sister gave birth to her last born around the time when I completed my university education so I was fully available to help care for her baby girl. I helped feed her, bathe her, put her to sleep, carry her, play with her and many other activities that she liked to do. She is 3 years old now and we have the best bond. I have really enjoyed this child care experience. I am currently studying a language course at the Goethe institute in my country. I am interested in the AuPair program because I truly love children, I love spending time with them and seeing them smile. I will be happy to experience a new culture, learn a new language and tell you about my culture and my country. I know how to take care of children very well and I am very understanding. I will protect them, ensure to have a good friendship with them, engage in activities that are of interest to them and many other activities that I will be required to do. Living with me is really Okay because I am very respectful, responsible, hardworking, caring, cheerful and friendly. I will be happy to help around the house with house work and I don’t mind working extra hours. I will take every second of this opportunity very seriously because children are very important in the family and in our society. They are so precious and a blessing in our lives therefore they have to be taken care of with love and care . They are our future I am looking forward to hearing from you.
