MARIANA, 28 YEARS

Hi host families!
My name is Mariana and I am 24 years old! I was born and raised in Mérida, Yucatán, México near beautiful beaches, cenotes and mayan ruins. I worked as an au pair for 4 years in New York city taking care of a 2 and 4 year old who are now 6 and 9!
I really love to travel, learn about different cultures in the world and always looking to challenge myself to become a better human :).
I am a very responsible individual who you can rely on! I am a fast learner, organized, detailed oriented individual who also likes to go on adventures and have fun! I am someone who has a very high tolerance to stressful situations and like to problem solve in a respectful and calm way. I am not someone who looses their temper and always is looking for a challenge.

Before becoming an au pair in the united states, I worked for a day care in the mornings where we took care of children between 1 and 5 years old. As an au pair in Brooklyn, New York I took care of a 2 year old boy and a 4 year old girl for 4 years! It was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life, since I got to see them grow and become the amazing kids they are today. Some of the tasks I had as an au pair were cooking meals for the kids, drove them to school, change diapers, prepare school lunch, made sure that their rooms where organized and even singing lullaby songs to put them to bed!

My first language is Spanish and I also know some words in Mayan language since Yucatan is the region where the mayan culture comes from. I learned basic english in school and I was able to improve it when I moved to New York. I am completely fluent in english and spanish.

My motivation everyday is to become a better version of myself by always learning something new from any situation that might arise or people that I meet. I want to be able to make a meaningful impact in the life of other people with any work that I do
