SHUYI, 28 YEARS

Dear host family,

My name is Luna who is 23 years old girl comes from Guangzhou China, I'm living in Guangzhou which is one of the biggest cities with my family, it is prosperous and old city with large population, many people from other provinces come here to work and also bring the lots of cultures and economy energy to make Guangzhou more vibrant .

I have been to Singapore to study the hospitality management after high school, and then I was employed as a Management Trainee in one Buffet restaurant in Singapore, and after I came back to Guangzhou, I worked as Executive Floor Agent at China hotel - A Marriott Hotel in Guangzhou. But after that I quit my job , because I want to learn more things and find my other possibilities or potentials in the future , so fortunately I have found a project to be a volunteer in Australia, it affect my life a lot and broaden my horizons, before that I thought it might be a challenge to go to the unfamiliar country, however, I learnt a lot from this great experience, improving my ability of independence and got more experiences of how to care people and protecting the environment.

I went back to Australia to get the Work Exchange for accommodations for the great memories I had before, during the time, I have met a one local family with a 5 years old cute boy , that made me have a chance to get along with him to play and take care of him when his parent weren't around him, like playing games with him , if he wanted to take medicine, I had asked his parents first, if he went far away from me, I had reminded him to not go far away from me, and when he cried a lot, I needed to be calmed and talked with him patiently with a warm voice , at least made him release. Those time we got along with each other gave me experiences of looking after kids. I think the kids are also teachers to make me keep the curiosity to the world and practice my patience from growing with them in a way, I hope I can give them good memories in their childhood by playing and accompanying with them whether in house or outdoors . I will feel honour to be a part of teaching and looking after the kids in their childhood and also a great memory of my life.

I am such a cheerful and friendly girl that can always make people laugh around me, I like going hiking and doing yoga , and enjoy watching movies, listening to music and reading some magazines or news. I enjoy doing something creatively, so I want to teaching the way of learning Chinese to the kids to make them have fun from that. I am interested in learning another languages or new cultures as well and like discussing something about life or news, i think it's also a good way to learn and make people relationship get closer. I feel lucky that I can travel some countries to broaden my horizons and give me an open mind and curiosity to want to explore the things and people around the world, so this experiences make me who I am now and know how to respect and accept the differences of people and things around the world , and I also a curious person who like studying new things like trying new hobby, or exploring around the new places.

I was born in such a traditional family, I 'm the only child in my family, this is also one of the reasons why I want to be an au pair, because I desire to have a brother or sister to get along with. My parents have already given lots of love and care for me, so I would like to share my love for some people I care especially

for the pure children , and I also have been some countries to get more experiences to get used to different environments, in the future, I would like to do something meaningful to share Chinese cultures to some people in the world.

Whether my friends or my teacher, whether from China or from foreign countries, most of my friends consider me as a friendly girl with open mind to accept the situations no matter what it is. Actually, in my opinion, even though the future will have some challenges in front of me, I always try to face it
bravely and deal with it as much as I can.On the other hand, I really like studying the psychology and philology , because of that, it alway help me learn how to get along well with new people and
even the world, and I have some work experiences in restaurant and hotel and volunteering in Australia that makes myself more patient when I talk with people no matter how old they are, no matter where he or she comes from.

When I finish the program, I will come back to my country to find a job for educational industry or hospitality industry with more passion. I believe that it could be my precious experience in my life, and I will appreciate for everyone who appear in that place during that memorable time.
