DOROTHY, 29 YEARS

Hi there my future potential host mum and dad! My name is Dorothy from Mombasa kenya, the coastal part of my country where you find lot’s of palm trees which means lots of coconut juice, sandy beaches with crystal clear blue waters. It is also very humid 90% of the year, part of the reason i want to be an au pair so i can experience a different environment with different weather and seasons. My family calls me Doh and friends call me Dotty( all short for Dorothy) I am 26 years old looking to be an au pair in either Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands, Finland, Norway or Austria. I speak fluent english and a little bit of German. Friends and family describe me as a bubbly person, calm, loving and caring, intelligent, well organized and very responsible. My core values in life are Family because have been brought up by both my mum and dad and with my 3 other siblings. I also value my religion as a christian but am a diversified person so i totally respect your views on religion. I want to be an au pair because I love and enjoy being around kids. I love to be part of their growing up. I would also love to see life in a different culture, and also get to share about my kenyan culture in return. Also, my love to take care of kids came naturally because am the second born in our family so my big sister and i helped my mom to take care of our two younger siblings. When my big sister got married and had her 2 kids now aged 2yrs and 7yrs, i also was/still is a big part in their growing up and their day to day routine. I have worked as a baby sitter and a kindergarten teacher right after i was done with Highschool before joining college. I can help with taking care of pets if that’s a requirement and also doing light household chores. Am also open to learning the language of my host family for better communication( trust me, am a fast learner) I can start my visa application as soon as we come into an agreement so that i can join you guys as fast as i can. I know most families prefer au pairs from the EU in order to avoid the long visa process but am asking you to please take a chance on me. Am currently volunteering/working at our church every Tuesday and Thursday in the administration department and i also run a small foundation that donates sanitary pads to girls from impoverished background and also create awareness on period poverty which is very common in my country.
