JILLIAN, 24 YEARS

My name is Jillian Achieng Ogallo.I am a twenty year old Kenyan. I come from Nyakach a small town in Kisumu county Kenya. I am currently living in the Netherlands as an Au pair looking after two beautiful children aged four and one. I speak Kiswahili, English Luo and a little bit of Dutch. I am a high school graduate. I participated in scouting, music and drama. My hobbies include travelling; I have been to many places in Kenya going for trips hiking or going out but not outside the country. I also like listening to music whenever I can, reading especially fan fiction, comedy, autobiographies and biographies. I would describe myself as adventurous, reliable, open minded and an avid lover of life. My friends and I always get together when our schedules allow and go for trips. I come from a family of six, my mom and my four siblings. My mom is a house wife and i have four siblinngs I would like to pursue a degree in Information Communication Technology but taking some time to have different life experiences. I would like to be given a chance to be an Au pair once again in Denmark because I would love to learn a different culture make new friends, explore more, to help another family and to share my culture as well. When it comes to child care and experience, I have taken care of my toddler niece for her first six months, my nephew now six and my younger sister who is thirteen years of age. I was left in charge of my niece during the day especially on weekdays. In the Netherlands , as an Au pair I have been taking care of two children aged four and one. My duties include feeding them, picking up the older one from school, playing various activities like crafting, going for picnics and walks, tidying up their rooms, doing and folding laundry, changing their bedding and I’m responsible for the children’s personal hygiene. I genuinely love children and like being a part of their upbringing, their learning and their development. As for my leisure time, if I’m indoors,I like reading novels or coding. When it’s not too wet and windy, I like going out with friends, going for walks or viewing rides exploring, listening to music and dancing. I would be happy to live with a host family that would be happy to have me stay with them and share their culture with me. Jillian
