NUR, 32 YEARS

Hi My Name is Nur Ikhsani Rahmatika but You can call me Tika for short. I’m 25 Years Old and I’m Indonesian. I have three brothers, two older and one younger and I’m the only girl in the family. just graduated from University Majoring in Public Health in Department of Environmental Health. In about a year or two I plan to pursue a master degree, but I am yet to make up my mind concerning my future area of specialization. So, at the moment, I would like to take some time out of academics to have a different life experience, and to have time to calmly reflect on my future academic/professional orientation. To this end, I think spending a year abroad would be particularly interesting.
I’m interested in becoming au pair because I really like learning about different cultures, I have been travelling to some neighborhood countries just to experience amd learn their cultures and sometimes I stayed with locals too because in that way I can learn their culture directly from them. When travelling I would only be able to learn in short time and never got to learn about one’s culture deeper that’s why I choose to be an au pair because I really want to experience different culture in different way.
My first language is, of course, Indonesians, and I am also fluent in English. I started learning English in primary school, and it was also the language of instruction in the secondary school I attended. I have in addition being in some language clubs to be able to practice my English.
I have some experiences with the kids since I worked as an English tutor and Swimming tutor for children when I was in University. I also had been in China to do volunteering program and exchanging culture. The program is about autism where I had to assist a teacher of autistic kids in Rehabilitation center and also experiencing a camp with them, In the camp we teach the autistic kids how to depend on themself, we teach them how to wash their clothes, how to cook, etc and It was so amazing experience for me. We also had been doing a charity to raise awareness for the autistic kids in Zhuhai, China. I also have two nephews and one niece aged 6, 2 and 8 months. I take care of them since they are born in my free time and when my sister is busy she’ll ask me to look after them.
When it comes to leisure, I take pleasure in the simple things in life. I enjoy being outdoors, being with my friends, going for walks, visiting places I have not been to, and watching movies. I enjoy swimming very much that’s why I work part time as a swimming tutor.
As far as preferences are concerned, I am looking for a live-in arrangement with a host family, that would be happy to have me stay with and work for them for at least 6 months. I would also looking after children aged between 0 to 11 years. I also can help with the cooking, housework and Ironing. I can drive but I still manage to get my International Driving lisence. Lastly, although I am quite flexible, I would prefer to have working hours that would allow me to attend day time language classes.
