AYSUN, 23 YEARS

Hello there! Thank you so much for clicking on my profile!
I'm Aysun and 20 years of age. I am currently studying Journalism, Film and Media at the University of Stirling in Scotland. I am originally from Germany, even though my parents are Turkish. As you can see I have quite experience dealing with the difficulties of living in between cultures. I am very flexible and always happy to learn and help where ever I can!

I have helped my cousin take care of her daughter in Turkey for a month and have worked with the children of family friends as well when they needed extra teaching for school work.

I love diving into different cultures and learning new languages (I am currently learning Korean). Additionally, I am really passionate about film, writing, singing, cooking, reading and a lot more ( I have too many hobbies for my own good haha). I can speak German, Turkish and English fluently. Moreover, I know a lot about housework since I didn't study immediately after school but helped my family at home for one year. This and my experience as an immigrant has made me very independent.

I am outgoing, independent and open to any new experiences that life can through at me. I love to learn and, this might sound cheesy, I genuinely love life! I want to see the world and help people as much as I can. I also work hard and try to help where ever I can. I am very interested in arts, literature, cinema and music as well. Spirituality is also a topic that I love to read about and practice.

My parents are Turkish immigrants in Germany and I have an older sister. Since my older sister was dealing with other things, I took a lot of responsibility in my family: I did a lot of housework and bureaucracy and translated for my parents whenever they needed it. In 2018 my mother got sick so I decided to take a break and stay home in order to help her get healthier and juggle the chores at home. This has taught me a lot before I eventually moved out to Scotland.

I am studying Journalism, Film and Media at the University of Stirling in Scotland. Before that, I went to a high school in Germany where I have been trained for music and arts in specific. I graduated with a GPA of 1.7.

I love keeping myself busy:
- going to the theatre/ opera
- reading
- writing (especially for our University newspaper)
- creating videos (I currently have a YouTube channel)
- singing
- spirituality and meditation
- watching movies and analysing them
- learning new languages

I helped a lot of relatives and family friends with their children over the years.
I supported them with their homework and other schoolwork and babysitter whenever my help was needed.

I want to see the world, experience a different culture and help where help is needed. I want to make unforgettable connections with people all around the world and broaden my horizon.
