FRENCH AU PAIR LOOKING FOR A FAMILY IN DENMARK OR THE UK
Hi,
My name is Mélanie and I'm gonna tell you a bit about myself as well as about my expectations as an au pair.
My parents are from Russia but I grew up in France with my brother. I speak fluent Russian. I graduated from a international high school in Strasbourg (east of France). Then, I moved to Paris where I have been living for 4 years. I studied economics and mathematics for two years. I am currently a Film and Performing Arts student. I enjoy sports and especially football. I played the piano for 5 years and went to a ballet school for 10 years.
I had a first au-pair experience in France in 2016 and then one in London during the summer in 2017. I enjoyed it so much I decided to do it again. I expect to bond with the kids. I want them to be comfortable around me after some time together so they would enjoy spending time with me. I love to play with kids and thanks to my previous experience with kids I know a lot of games and songs they might enjoy too. I'm a creative person so I can even invent some new games with them. I also love to tell stories. I know some by heart so sometimes even if you don't have the book but the child want a specific story it shouldn't be a problem. I expect the parents to be honest and straight-forward with me about what they expect me to do, the schedule and all the practical details.
A bit more about my experience with children :
I have been regularly taking care of children for three years now. I have taken care of kids form 6 months to 12 years-old on weekend nights as well as after school. For a few months, I looked after a 2-year-old girl and her 9-month-old brother during the day. On weekend mornings, I used to take care of two kids (2 and 5) for three months. This year, I looked after three brothers (5, 8 and 12) after school. I cooked them dinner, took care of the bath for the youngest one and played with them. From time to time, I also look after one-year-old twins and their 4-year-old sister.
In 2016, I travelled as an au pair for three weeks with a French family in the South of France. They had three kids (2, 8 and 10 years old). I was like a member of the family and what I did depended on the schedule. I took care of the youngest one and the girls on the morning, looked after them by the ocean and after. I also looked after the three of them some nights when their parents were out. Depending on the days, I could take care of lunch / dinner, go on some excursions with the kids and the parents or sometimes just the kids. It was a great experience and I still do some babysitting for them in Paris. During the summer in 2017, I worked as an au pair for a British family in London. I looked after two little girls (4 years old and 1,5 years old). At first, I looked after the youngest all day long and picked up the oldest at nursery and then I had them both all day. The parents were sometimes working from home. It was a great experience. We went out quite a lot with the girls and in the end I felt like a big sister for them. I really felt like a member of the family. I still see them every time I'm in London. I would like to do this again this summer. I'm available from May to the beginning of October.
