ERIKA, 25 YEARS

Dear Host Family, I would like to express my interest to be part of your family and become your Au Pair. Hi, my name is Erika. I am 25 years old from Baclayon, Bohol, Philippines. I've been an Au Pair in Netherlands and I want to continue my Au Pair Journey. I'm a "Boholana". Many tourists flock to Bohol to witness its natural beauty and discover its eco-tourism attractions. But Bohol is also an exciting island full of vibrant festivities that are loved by locals and tourists alike. Each festival is a celebration of Bohol’s culture, as well as a showcase of Boholanos’ talent, creativity, and love for revelries. I graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Elementary Education major in Pre-Elementary/Early Childhood Education. I have a loving and happy family, we loves outing and going to the beach. I have 1 older brother "Rabi" (28 years old) a graduate with the degree of Bachelor of Science and Information Technology. My father "Robert" (57 years old) is a Freelance Entertainment Coordinator/Musician and my mother "Mariza" (54 years old) who just passed away last year September 13, 2021, is an Accounting major. I am living in a house that is located near the ocean. We have 2 cats named "MJ" and "Unni", who is very cute, sweet and naughty. I would describe myself as an open-minded, easy going, dedicated, loves challenges, patience and responsible person. I love singing, adventures, travel, watching movies, going to the beach with my family, playing sports like badminton and learning new things. I have a lot of experiences with children. I have 1 year experience as a Preschool Assistant Teacher, with a drive and passion for the care and learning of children. I have experienced working in a preschool environment, dealing with children from different background, aged two to five were I am responsible for assisting/facilitating in there activities and also make learning as fun. I'm also a Private Tutor, were I teach mostly English and any subjects of a Preschool and Grade 3 pupils. I do babysitting my little cousins and nephew were I was looking after them and making sure that they will also learn something from me by incorporating learning and playing. I'm also part of a Government Internship Program in our Municipality here in the Philippines. The reason why I love to become an Au Pair because, I want to learn more about other cultures, traditions and languages. I am a person who loves to work with children and I also want to share my knowledge to them. Working with children and being part of another family away from my home will be difficult. But with the difficulties, I will be able to learn and teach independence and adaptability too. Here are some information about me and How would I be as an Au Pair: How will you help the kids with their homework? - As I am a teacher, I can help the kids by assisting them with their school homework and answer or solve questions they have doubts about. I will accompany them in their study time to do so. What are your expectations? - I want to bear responsibility and perform positively. I wish to gain positive relationship with the kids and to your family as well as an independent attitude. What do you like about working with children? - I love how flexible and innocent children are. Their mindsets are in the process of being built, unlike ours. To actively shape someone positively is one of the most rewarding aspects of my job. Can you handle emergencies, and how? - I usually keep calm even under emergencies, and even if I do panic, I don't let it project onto the children. If I face an emergency, I will immediately contact you or the concerning authorities while ensuring the children's safety and comfort.
