PHOEBE, 32 YEARS

Greetings! (:D I hope all is well with the family during this challenging time we're facing globally. I understand how tough it is to get an au pair from the Philippines. However, I believe this is a surmountable constraint thru commitment and compromise. I am open with negotiations and legal arrangements to make it possible. There are always conceivable ways to make it happen even during the hardest of times, only if one is willing enough. On a personal note, I am Phoebe Lopez, was born on 28th of February 1992. I had a bachelor's degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. I wasn't able to practice in my field but I did have exposures and relevant experiences. I deem that one should not be enclosed within specific parameters to fully achieve efficiency; I can say that my experiences, no matter how disparate from what I had learned from school, truly contributed in my personal growth and development. As for my au pair experience, I stayed for a year in the Netherlands with my host family of five members. I did act as the eldest sister of my three beautiful host sisters then ages 10, 8 and 4. Basically, I did household chores like: grocery shopping, did the laundry/folding, set the table for breakfast and prepared dinner, vacuuming/cleaning, tidying up, babysitting especially with the youngest, and assisted my host parents in whichever situation that requires my aid. I got to play with my host sisters at times, look after them whenever it is just the four of us at home. I dropped off and picked them up from their school or play dates' residence, and as per schedule, from their hockey training and swimming. I usually accompany and play with them at the park or bring them to play with my au pair friends host's children. After my visa expired, I decided to go back home for a while. I went back to schooling and took Professional Education. As an overview, since I had a bachelor's degree, I was able to take up several units and be able to take the licensure of exams for teachers. I earned my license after a year of studying and reviewing. Being equipped with another safety net as a fallback later on, I can continue my quest to become an au pair while my age still allows me to do so. (:D Being an au pair; widened my horizon on how vast the world is, and deepened my understanding on how diverse we truly are but, these are what makes my appreciation profound.
