TRACIE MAY, 32 YEARS

Dear Family,

My name is Tracie May Catiil. I am a 29 years-old (female). I graduated my college degree ( Bachelor of Arts major in English_AB-English ) last 2012. I studied Massage Therapy as my skills as well and got my NCII and DOH Licensed in my country ( Philippines) last 2013-2014.

Currently, I am working as an Au Pair here in Denmark, my contract will end 31, May 2021.
As an Au Pair here in Denmark, I learned a lot from the culture and from the people around especially to my host family. My main task in my current host family is do all the cleaning, cooking, do the laundry, walk the dog and child care which I experienced it well while I am here in Denmark. I wanted to enhance my skills, and learned more about the culture and people from other country as well such as Norway/Netherlands/Spain which I could contribute more as I have experience working as an Au Pair already here in Denmark.

As my family background, I come from a family of 10: My parents, Benedicto (deceased 27, Mar. 2020) and Virginia , senior citizen and stayed at home as I and my other siblings took care of her while i was in the my home country. My mom she have an amputated leg due to her diabetes. We, siblings took care of the responsibilities in the house especially my parents. I have 5 sisters and 4 brothers. My eldest brother Aldrin, 48 years old works as Barangay Tanod/Barangay Police Officer in our community, my youngest brother Cedric, 27 works in a ship as a mess man. My other siblings are Beverly (46),Connie (44) and Evelyn (39) got married, have kids, lives and working in Japan, Dessire (41) and Jun (36) lives beside our house and have their own small business for living, Ricky (34) works as seaman and Vanessa (30) taking care of my parents and have one kid.

My first language is Cebuano/Visaya and Tagalog as what our dialect here in our country and I am also fluent in English. I started learning English in primary school, secondary and college school as we are obliged to learn and speak English, especially in my college days as I studied English as my major degree course. I am confident and love to speak in English at all times. I am not perfect but still learning to enhance my skills and ability to communicate people, but I would really love to learn of course other languages and really fun and exciting to learn new languages and culture from other country. While I was working in a travel agency office last 2012 before I graduated I worked part-time as an office staff and study Japanese language as well as they offered a language course and also while I was studying my Massage Therapist skills. I chose the Japanese language because I have my Japanese niece and nephews at least I could communicate with them with basic Japanese language plus I love the country and the culture. If I would given a chance to study another language it would be a great opportunity especially to be able to spend my time to a new family in a new country and culture is such a big blessings. I would very much like to find another good family to live with and work for in Norway/Netherlands/Spain

When it comes to child care experience, I have looked after children in both formal and informal contexts. In my college days, as part of our NSTP or National Service Training Program, I spent my two semesters teaching and taking care of the kids in the community, feed and give them learnings as teach them in their studies and the kids from the School for the Blind community, me and the team organised for them and took part in recreational indoor and outdoor activities: we sang, danced, played games, drew, painted, and narrated stories.

I have helped my sisters look after their kids as I have 9 niece and nephews all in all. I spent years of helping my sisters as 2 of my siblings lives beside our house I took care of them especially when they’re out. and gave time with the kids as I love kids as well. I can comfortably say that I sincerely enjoy spending time with children as part of a big family I have. And now that I am here in Denmark too, I look after av10 years old (Mads) ,15 years old (Marie), 17 years old (Marius)

When it comes to leisure, I take pleasure in the simple things in life. I enjoy being outdoors, I love going to the beach, hiking, going to outdoors adventures, being with my friends, visiting places I have not been to, anyway already had my international travel ( I visited Japan/Singapore/Denmark) for now but I do hope to travel more and explore other country.
I would really love to stay in my next Au Pair adventure that would be in the place where my new family is living, spend a great time with you all helping you taking care with the kids and do household chores and sharing my skills with you.
I also love spending time surfing the net learning and reading article online. I have the ability to cook that’s why I love cooking, I cooked like almost everyday in the house preparing foods for my parents and other siblings and also here in my host family, I always help preparing for dinner and cook for them.

As far as preferences are concerned, I am looking for a live-in arrangement with another host family, that would be happy to have me stay with and work for them for a longer period of time or anytime they wanted me to stay. I would also prefer looking after children or elderly people in any age. Lastly, although I am quite flexible, I would prefer to have working hours that would allow me to attend new languages classes or learn new skills like cooking or baking.
