PENIEL, 32 YEARS

Good day everyone. My name is Peniel Alexis and I am from Iloilo City in the Philippines. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Management Accounting from Central Philippine University and took up Diploma in Teaching from West Visayas State University. I also finished a year of my Master’s Degree in Business Management in the University of the Philippines- Visayas, one of the top schools in our country.

This would be my first experience working as an au pair and I hope someone would be kind enough to give me the chance to experience this. My work experience includes working in a bank for 5 years, but aside from that, I have been teaching English to foreign students since 2012. While I was still in the bank, I worked as an online English teacher part time in the evenings. I started working as a homebased online English Teacher full- time in the year 2018 and I have had experience teaching students from South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, China, South America and Europe.

I grew up as an only child. We live near some of my Father’s siblings and because of that, I sometimes help in watching over my younger cousins because their parents are working. I would play with them and teach them different things.

I love reading and I love dogs. I have two pet dogs at home. I also enjoy sports like swimming, badminton and I was also an athlete when I was in high school for the sport taekwondo. I also enjoy listening to music and watching movies. In my spare time, I also write stories. Nowadays, I enjoy cooking and am trying my hands on gardening.

There are a number of reasons why I want to be an au pair. First of all, being chosen would mean meeting different people from different cultures. I would be very delighted to share my culture especially to my host family and learn more about theirs. It would help me gain more knowledge not only in front of my computer, but I will get to experience it. Second, being an au pair will help me become more open- minded and help me see how there is beauty in diversity. It will also help me see how the same we are even with our differences. Lastly, getting this job will allow me to share my knowledge and skills. This will serve as a platform for me to make someone else’s life better by giving them the help they need.

I know this will be my first time doing this job, but I am willing to be taught and I will try my best to learn fast and do my best in the job given to me. I hope I will be given the chance to do this. It will be such an honor for me to be chosen. Thank you very much for your time and once again, good day!
