RELIABLE AND WELL EXPERIENCED SEEKING AU PAIR JOB
Dear Host Family,
My name is Jomari but my relatives and friends call me Jomz. I am 25 years old and I am living
in the Philippines with my parents and my siblings – Marie Paz, Joko and Janzen. Our parents are
called Ricardo and Vilma. My father used to work as a craftsman where he assembles frames for
paintings, pictures and cross stiches. He also did t-shirts printing. My mother is a day care worker.
She teaches and tutors kids in kindergarten. My father
already stopped working and my eldest sister did not finish her studies, I served as the bread winner
of our family so I have to be away from them, to work and to support them financially. My second
brother is working as a licensed Social Worker under a government agency and is serving
communities in the far flung areas while my youngest brother is still studying now and he is in the
4th grade. I live in a city called Zamboanga, situated in Mindanao. I studied at a University where
I enjoyed and learned a lot.
I live in an apartment where I had the responsibility to do my own
cooking, cleaning and laundry. I’m also used to do these things from my parents’ home. According
to my friends my cooking skills is great. I worked in a restaurant where I became a food servant and assistant chef. It was always a busy restaurant thats why Im used to moving fast and doing my work quickly like dish washing, kitchen/ window cleaning, and overall daily cleaning of the restaurant.Staying in an unorganized place makes me feel uncomfortable so I see to it that I put things back where they belong before I leave weather from my work or my apartment. I used to have a part time job at the kindergarten where my mom works, I used to help her with children daily activities and it helped me to be more creative in terms of interacting with kids. I was always assigned to make daily activities for kids, weather its indoor or outdoor activities I always make sure that kids will enjoy their time and be productive. I also assist kids on swimming lessons every weekend. I love to play and watch basketball during my free time.
Being an au pair was one of my plans after I graduated college. I have always been very fond of
children and the children seem to like me too. I discovered it when our baby brother was born. We
have a 16-year gap and I was tasked to take care of him while my parents where away from home
to work. When I was in college, my best friend also had a baby and every once in while I visited
them and played with his child and I was having so much fun. My eldest sister also had children
and they love me as well because we play and laugh together. I enjoy being around with kids so I
learned how to take care of them and give them what they need, I always see to it that kids enjoys cozy time whenever they are with me, we play outdoor, do some drawings or colorings, sometimes we bake their favorite pancake or muffins, I also read them fun and educational books. One of my ambition is to discover
more about a culture and lifestyle. I love reading and I like history.
I am friendly and my friends told
me that I am the funniest in our group. I love to joke around making my friends happy. Same as
with kids, I feel happy when I am able to make a kid laugh and smile. When it comes to kids, I am
patient. If a kid does something wrong I try to carefully tell the kid what he or she did wrong so
that next time it will not happen again. I understand that we need to talk to kids carefully for them
to fully understand complicated things in life and I think I am able to do that.
I think that my childcare and household skills will make me a great au pair. I really
want to experience your daily life and to learn more about your fascinating culture. I’m
mature and I’m used to take responsibility, both for others and myself, and I believe that living
away from my parents has taught me a lot about flexibility and Im very flexible at any circumstances. I can easily adjust to new situations
and can socialize well with others which is I think vital qualities when living with a new family in
a new environment.
I’m very excited about my experience that will come and I look forward to hear from you.
Best regards,
Jomari Gonzales
