MARIGOLD, 33 YEARS

Dear Family, Good day! How are you? I’m Marigold B. Landicho, Magold for short, 30 years old currently living in Philippines. I graduated at state university with Bachelor’s degree in Development Communication Major in Journalism. As an experienced au pair I will give my best to help you out and do my tasks responsibly. I would like to be an au pair as well in your country, as I know it would be an opportunity to meet other people, share your culture and language and see the beauty of your country, I am hardworking, responsible, trustworthy, caring and fun person. I'm outgoing person and try to meet other people and see new places if there's opportunity. I love and adore kids too! I want to be an au pair as I thought to myself, maybe I have to try again. I’d meet other kids and share my child care experience. And in exchange with this, I get to experience living in another country. An opportunity as well to meet other people, share their culture and language, see the beauty of the country, and to visit those places I once dreamed of. About my experiences, first, I would like to share my child care experience through my family. Before leaving to Norway, I have 6 nieces ages of 13, 12, 4, 3 years old and 8 and 2 moths old; 4 nephews ages of 9, 4, 3 and 2 years old. They sure are quite a lot to handle, especially when there’s occasion and family gatherings. But the beauty in it, the laughter, the cries, the screams were my precious moments with them. As the youngest of 7 siblings in my family, I became the “certified tita (auntie)” and official photographer of these wonderful kids. Through my adolescent years I was fortunate to experience as their babysitter. As I grew up my weekends were spent with them. My savings were allotted for snacks and toys given to them. I bathe while playing as well with them. I sung lullabies while I put them to sleep. I was with them when they got sick. I helped them with their homework, printing pictures and doing researches. Second, my experience as an au pair in Norway for 2 years, was taking care of 2 beautiful girls ages 6 and 2 years old. I lived with a Brazilian host mom and Norwegian host dad, residing in countryside. For the first year, my daily routine was mostly taking care of the youngest who’s sick as she was staying at home, at the same time I did some house cleaning and errands. I did take care as well the eldest, doing some play and activities with her. My tasks were light house cleaning, playing with the kids, doing some laundry and tidying up kids toys. Until now I still have contact with the kids and my host fam, doing videocalls and chats. I could give you a reference from them if you would like.
