IRENE ROSE, 31 YEARS

Dear host family, I am Irene, my family and close friends usually call me Ai-Ai or just Ai. I am a 26-year old Filipina girl. I am from the southern part of the Philippines. I grew up in a small city called Cagayan de Oro but I spent most of my childhood years on the countryside and moved to the city during middle school. I have finished my degree in Education at Xavier University. I am the third child in the family. I have two brothers and one younger sister who was born when I was already 8 years old. So growing up, I was already trained how to take care of a baby. My childhood memories include taking care of my younger sister. I could still remember how excited I was waking up each day so I could hold her in my arms, help my mother in giving her a bath and feed her. I have a very strong bond with my family. They have been very supportive in all of my endeavors. Aside from taking care of my sister, my childcare experience also include full-time babysitting and tutorials. My College Degree involved handling multiple groups of students, with an average of thirty students per group. Also, I have experienced being a volunteer teacher for preparatory school. I also volunteered in Vietnam as an English teacher and right now I am based in Thailand as full-time teacher--- I have been here since April of 2018. I am a woman with a great passion in discovering new places and cultures. I consider myself as adventurous as I like to try anything unfamiliar. I don't like setting boundaries in terms of the areas I should explore. Any opportunity I can get to experience something I have never done before, I go for it. My greatest dream is to see the world. I like the idea of travelling on a tight budget. I do not like staying in hotels. I like exploring the local scene in every new place I go to. I like talking to people and discover the beauty of the place through them. If I don’t have the luxury of time and money to travel during my free time, I instead stay in at home and either listen to music, watch a good movie, or read a book.
When I discovered the au pair program, I couldn't wait to take part in it as I believe it is one great medium for me to live my great dream of exploring the world and it is also aligned with my experiences with children. I believe I will be a great candidate as I am very responsible, adapts quickly, open-minded, and has an uncompromising work ethic.
I hope to find an open-minded family and as passionate as I am in discovering different cultures and accepting differences. I can assure my host family that I will do everything that is expected of me in the best of my abilities.
