JACKLYN, 37 YEARS

To my future family,

I am so excited to meet and get to know each one of you. I am a kindhearted girl full of dreams and have a positive outlook in life. I am a very adventurous person but can also stay at home reading books, listening to music, watching movies, cooking, cleaning/organizing stuffs, doing some arts and crafts and thinking about life’s greatest questions/the meaning of our existence. I am a marathoner and a mountaineer. I love photography, stargazing, arts/painting, Astronomy/Science/Space, long distance running, swimming, hiking, and traveling. I love pets especially cats.

To be an Au Pair would be a great opportunity for me as I want to travel to different countries, learn a new language, and get immersed in a new culture. I want to broaden my knowledge and understand life from different perspectives. New job, new country, new culture, and new people always offer new knowledge and experiences you don’t get to experience if you don’t get out of your comfort zone. I love kids and it is always refreshing to be with them as they are full of imagination, curiosity, dreams, and life.

Having no younger siblings at home made me more fond of small children. Ever since I was young, I have always wanted to have a baby brother or sister. So even at a very young age of 11, I would borrow my younger cousins to take care of them, help them take a bath, get ready for school, teach them homework, and play with them. I know that looking after kids full time isn’t an easy task, but kids aren’t complicated as long as you know how to handle them. For kids to fully understand and trust you, you have to adjust and be on the same wavelength with them and see the world through their eyes. Throughout my experience as a private tutor, whenever the kid would no longer want to listen or do his homework, I would create strategies to catch his attention like turning studying into a play.

I also love to cook and would usually experiment and create my own recipes. I was able to make my younger cousins eat vegetables (which they really hate) by re-inventing recipes that would make vegetable look and taste like a burger patty.

I am really good at fixing things, keeping things organized, looking at the brighter side of life, being positive, technical things, analyzing, and solving problems. I am very passionate in learning new things and can easily adapt and cope to continuous changes. I never had any major problems with my coworkers because as much as possible I try to avoid conflicts. I am a person who wants peace at all cause. I am also very sensitive and considerate to other people’s feeling. For any uncontrollable instances, I always have this mantra that there will always be times where you can’t control how other people will treat you and I can only change the way I perceive things. Personal or work related, I always try to look at the brighter side of life. It really helps and it works.

I hope that you will entrust me in caring and nurturing your children. I would love to inspire them to have dreams of their own and to help them grow as a goodhearted person. :)
