JORJI, 24 YEARS

Hi Future Host Family I am Jorji Sobremisana, from the Philippines, specifically Davao City. I am now 24 years old and will turn 25 on September 16. I've only finished my 3rd year of college with a Bachelor of Science in Office Administration, and due to financial problems, as I do not have parents to support, I need to start working and save up, but I actually don't know what exactly I wanted to do. I stay with my grandma (the aunt of my biological dad) and her family, and they have raised me well. Growing up with them, I was exposed to church, playing instruments like the piano and ukulele, and also being responsible and independent on my own. My grandma's children have kids now, and I have been taking care of them since I was 13 years old. I learned how to take care of newborns, and now they have grown up, and I am so proud to be part of their lives. They have also entrusted me, or I am the go-to person with their kids and everything when they need to go somewhere or do something and I do almost all of the house chores. Also, I know how to cook basic Filipino food and would love to learn more. Since childhood, I have harbored a dream of traveling to Europe, which I consider impossible due to our financial situation. However, recently I learned about the Au Pair program and realized it could be a path to fulfilling my dreams. I have a deep appreciation for different cultures and am confident in my ability to communicate in English. I am a patient, kind, and eager learner, and I am excited about the prospect of immersing myself in a new culture and family.
