MARES, 21 YEARS

Hello! My name is Mares Tajantajan, and I am 21 years old, currently residing in the Philippines. I come from a family of three siblings, sharing the same mother and father. Additionally, I have a half-sister, and there's another baby on the way whose gender is yet to be known. I've had to navigate through life's challenges from a young age, particularly after the loss of my mother due to cervical cancer when I was just ten years old. This tragedy left my father devastated, unable to provide for our family. Consequently, my older sister took the responsibility of being the breadwinner at the age of seventeen. However, her income was insufficient to meet our needs, given the high cost of living. To ensure that we had food on the table and that I could continue my education, I began working at a bakery when I was only twelve years old. I dedicated two years to this job, juggling both work and school, striving to make ends meet and complete my elementary education. I'm glad to share that I successfully completed high school, although it wasn't without its challenges. Throughout my high school years, I was a working student, balancing academics with employment to ensure I could continue my education. This commitment sometimes meant living with different families to maintain stability and focus on my studies. Despite the hurdles, I remained determined to pursue my education, demonstrating resilience and dedication in the face of adversity. This also taught me the value of hard work. With a diverse background encompassing two years of bakery work and four years of experience as a nanny and housemaid, I am confident that I am the ideal candidate for roles requiring dedication, adaptability, and a strong work ethic. My varied experiences have equipped me with valuable skills such as attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work effectively in different environments.
