Hello to my Future Host Family! :) I am Mary Isabel Campaner, 22 years old living in the Philippines, Mindanao in General Santos. I am a graduating student in college this year. My father is gone, so when I graduate from college, I want to immediately explore new challenges in life to fulfill my dreams. Aside from that becoming an au pair offers a unique and enriching opportunity to immerse oneself in a new culture while providing valuable support to a host family. My desire to become an au pair often stems from a passion for cultural exchange, personal growth, and a genuine love for working with children. This experience allows me to build meaningful connections with a family in a foreign country, fostering a deep understanding of their customs and way of life. As an au pair, I can contribute to the daily responsibilities of childcare and become an integral part of the family dynamics, forging bonds that can last a lifetime. The exposure to diverse perspectives and the chance to enhance my language skills are additional motivating. This unique blend of cultural immersion, childcare experience, and personal development makes being an au pair appealing and rewarding for individuals seeking a transformative and unforgettable journey. My favorite hobby is traveling because I love discovering new cities and places around the world. I often save up for months to plan a trip every year. I love friends’ trips and family outings but solo traveling brings me the real adventure and thrill to venture into new places all by myself. I also like participating in volunteer activities especially teaching underprivileged kids. I have been associated with a few non-profit organizations since my college days and I like spending my weekends helping these NGOs with different activities from teaching to organizing interesting games and activities to make learning fun for kids. I like children. When my cousin left her children with my mother, I also helped her take care of my nieces and nephews. My 3-year-old niece, I took care of her when she was just a month old until she was 1 year old. So I have experience how to handle children and discipline properly in a good way. I can also ensure that I can also help in the development of the children. After being an Au Pair, I will use the opportunity to find a way to process documents and try to find jobs wherever I am in a foreign country. I will ask for help from my host family or my future friends so that I can stay and continue my dream of working abroad.
