Hi, I am a 23-year-old Filipina. I worked as a student during college, and people say I am the breadwinner of our family of 5 because, after I graduated, I was the only one with a stable job to support my family. I heard about being an au pair from my workmate; her sibling is one. They suggested I try it while I'm still young. I researched it and believe it would be a great help for my family and an opportunity for me to meet another family that could help me experience the world and support their children.Since I was around 14 years old, I've been used to taking care of my younger cousins, aged 2-5, because their parents were always working. I helped with household chores and did the laundry for the kids.If given the chance to have a kind host family, I would be the happiest to go abroad, meet them, and experience their culture. I come from a poor family with no one to rely on except my determination to change the course of our lives. I hope there will be support for my dream, even in this way.
