Dear Future Host Family, My name is Karla, I am 29 years old and currently living in a beautiful town in Leyte, Philippines. I would love the chance to be a big sister within your family, and help take care of your child. I am happy to also help doing the house chores as needed. About me: I am a happy, positive and trustworthy person. I come from a very close and loving family with my parents, my sisters and our gorgeous dogs. My parents have helped shape me as a person and taught me the values of family, empathy and the importance of treating everyone with respect. I always try to make it my mission for everyone around me to be happy and leave our encounter with a big smile. I also have quite a large extended family with many cousins and family friends of all ages, so I grew up around lots of kids, some now with children of their own. During my free time I like to spend walking my dog along the park, catching up with friends or family, reading novels, gardening, and creating art & crafts. My experience: This will be my first time being an Au Pair, however during my schooling years I spent a lot of time babysitting my younger cousins and family friends children, up until I moved away from my home town to attend College where I studied Tourism Management. Currently, I'm babysitting 3 kids: 2 nephews and 1 niece (0-5 years old) for 3 years now. I changed their diapers, washed their clothes, tutor them, and give them snacks. We love to play every afternoon, after their school. They are so lovable! Why I want to become an Au Pair in your Country: I have not experienced much of what is to offer from the world far from the comforts of the Philippines, and abroad has always been a dream of mine! I feel like other countries culture have so much to offer and a quick trip will not give me the full experience. I would love to spend some of my weekends visiting other parts or neighboring countries, any recommendations are greatly appreciated. I hope to learn a lot through joining your family and I wish to be like a big sister to your child and share all you wish to learn about my language and culture. I believe children are shaped so much within their younger years and I wish to have a positive impact on them by engaging with them and helping them learn as much as possible through a happy and positive experience!
