HELENE, 27 YEARS

Hi ….

My name is Helene. I’m 20 years old and live in the southern part of Denmark. I spend a lot of my time working and in my spare time I train a lot and being together with my friends. This summer I finished my business school and took a sabbatical year. Right now I stay with my parents, but in my sabbatical year, I want to do something different and exciting. In November I will travel to Tanzania and work in a school with kids. Afterwards I want to be an au pair, because I love being together with children’s and it seems they love being around me as well.

In the future I want to be educated as a nurse, and being a voluntary worker has a relevant connection and meets the requirements of my future job as a nurse. But this is not alone the only reason of why I chose to be a voluntary worker – helping people, being together with children and meeting new people, sounds just like a thing for me! Besides I want to try something new, while I can do something good to make other people happy.

Being an au pair and together with children makes me feel comfortable – I love playing with children, give them attention and make them feel comfortable around me as well. Besides I love being in the kitchen making food – Which gave me the thoughts of being an au pair. I have a driver’s license which makes me more flexible.

Right now I’m working at 3 places. I work as a shop assistant, a babysitter and in a nursing home.
In many years, I have worked with children as a babysitter, which has given me a lot of experience being together with children. Working in a nursing home also gave me a lot of experience about hygiene and also how to behave around sick people. I love being around with children, and they usually feel comfortable being around me as well. All these years of being a babysitter have helped me with how I should behave when I’m around children.
Because I’m very active and like to do sport, and I would love being together with a family that share the same values as me.
