LILIAN, 28 YEARS

My name is Lilian, and I’m 26-years-old English teacher. I consider myself a responsible, energetic, reliable and friendly person. I love cooking, hiking and taking pictures wherever I go. I have been working as an Au pair in the United States for two years and it has been a truly enriching experience. Not only has my love for children increased, but it has also helped me grow as a person. It has given me the tools for life and skills like independence, maturity and adaptability. In general I have always loved the innocence of children and their creative minds and I see in myself the potential to be a positive influence in their lives. Since I studied a bachelor’s degree in English and French at the University in my home country, I decided to apply to become an Au Pair in the United States because it would give me the opportunity to practice the language with native speakers, learning new cultures and making an impact on children’s lives. My experience working with children has been amazing, every day I can find love and joy just being around them. For the last couple of years I have been taking care of children of different ages: from 3 months to 5 years old. Caring for a newborn has been a wonderful experience for me because it was the first time I saw a baby growing up since his first day. To sum it up I have had a wonderful experience taking care of kids and made unforgettable memories with lovely families, and that’s the reason why I would love to have a similar experience in a different country because I want to immerse myself in a new culture, create a strong bond with my host children and family and make unforgettable experiences with them, meet people and get to know new places while practicing the language that I’m passionate about, and why not learn another language as well.
