FUN, ENERGETIC AND ADAPTABLE!
Hi, my name is Lydia and I'm a 20 year old nursing student. I'm currently in my 3rd year of Nursing school and will be graduating in 2019. Once I've finished school I plan to teach ESL abroad and later on pursue a Masters in ESL. I'm a hard worker and abosolutely love kids! As the eldest of 3 kids I've grown up in the caretaker role so being there to nurture, educate and entertain kids has always been a huge part of my life. I've learned to adapt to daily changes and/or challenges, be resourceful and think quickly on my feet in stressful situations. On top of that, I have mastered the art of turning pretty much anything into a fun and creative activity! I plan to treat my aupair family just as I would treat my own, and hope the feeling will be mutual! I believe that every relationship should be built on trust and respect.
I spent the majority of my life taking care of my two younger siblings; one is currently 14 and the other is 5. My 5 year old brother is on the Spectrum, so I've learned to overcome a variety of challenges that one might face with a child who is special needs. Furthermore, I've worked at an overnight camp for two summers who catered to ages 6-15 years and I am now currently working at a Early Childhood Education Centre. All in all, I've learned that children have as much to teach me as I have to teach them.
I want to become an aupair because I feel like by expanding my horizons, I'll be able to better educate myself on children of different cultures/backgrounds as well as apply that to my work ethnic as I continue to grow and develop myself as an individual.
