MARIA, 27 YEARS

Dear Host family, 

Welcome to my profile. My name is Maria, I'm 22 years old and I'm from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Rio is an amazing state surrounded by nature and nice views. Nowadays, I'm living in Belgium as an Au Pair. But I will talk a little bit about it later, ok? :) 

I consider myself a very easy going person, flexible, caring, extroverted, responsible, mature and loyal. I love to go out, explore new places, discover more about different cultures. That's one of the reasons I decided to be an Au Pair in Belgium. Besides that, I enjoy nice walks, go out with friends, travel, read books, go to the movies, do outdoor activities and watch Netflix. I also like to practice some sports, in particular swimming. I used to swim in competitions when I was 12. :)

In February of 2018 I started a part time internship in a kindergarten/preschool where I worked till August of 2018. Over there, I used to help the teachers during the evening with the kids of 4 till 12 years old. My job was mainly help during creative activities, play with them, help during the snack time and study with them during the test week. 

Nowadays I'm an Au Pair in Belgium. My host family is basicly a single mother with 2 kids (1,5 and 3,5 years old). Over here, my tasks are wake up the kids, make them ready for the day, prepare breakfast and school snacks, drive them to school/daycare and pick them up, play with them, prepare dinner for the family, help to put the kids in bed and do laundry for all of us. I'm having an amazing time with this family! It's being great to see the kids development and be part of it. We only speak English in the house and it's also nice to see the progress of their speech in the language.
