LAURA, 24 YEARS

Hi! I am a 19 years old brazilian girl, already based in Denmark. I come from São Paulo, the largest brazilian city, famous for its cultural diversity and good food; where I grew up with my little brother.
We have always been very close, so moving abroad left me homesick and I'd love to have new younger 'siblings' to look after, meaning I truly want to be part of the family. I love reading, playing videogames, dancing (attended over 7 years of dance classes growing up), getting involved into arts and crafts projects (I am a cosplayer, meaning I make character costumes from scratch) and baking, so I like to think of myself as a very creative person. Overall, I am a very quiet and respectful person, don't smoke or drink, and don't really enjoy going out late at night, as the company of a good book and a warm cup of tea is much more appealing to me. A nice little extra is that I have a domestic animals first aid certificate, what means I absolutely love animals and would not mind caring for one if needed, exotic or not.
My first language is, of course, Portuguese, but I'm also fluent in english and know a bit of spanish (enough to understand people and hold a conversation). And of course, I'm looking forward to learning danish.
When it comes to child care experience, besides taking care of my brother ever since he was born, I also helped my aunt as an assistent teacher at her arts school, looking after kids everywhere from 1 to 14 years old.
About scheme preferences, I am looking for a live-out arrangement, but sleepovers are possible whenever needed. I will make most of my meals at the house I'll be living at, with my boyfriend's family, but I can cook and eat with my host family too. As far as work hours go, I am pretty flexible, my only request is that I am able to attend danish classes. Location wise, I would like to be close to Copenhagen, as I'll be living in Glostrup.
Why Denmark? A while ago, I read a book about the country and the mysteries behind the 'happiest nation of the world', I learned the concept of 'hygge' and got a good idea of how society there works. Needless to say I fell in love with the country's amazing history, language and traditions. Later on, I found myself with a danish boyfriend and now his family kindly gave me the opportunity to spend time here living with them, and I think the best way possible to be truly integrated to the country is as an au pair, as I will have the opportunity to meet other families and see how things work, while being able to exchange cultures and grow with your kids.
I know that taking care of children comes with a great responsibility, that I am ready to take. If I am chosen, I will be fully compromised on adapting to your family's schedule and way of living, and to be like an older sister to the kids.
