ESTHEFANI, 29 YEARS

Dear Family, My name is Esthefani Cavalcante, I was born in 1994 in the country town of Rio Grande do Norte. Nowadays I live in Fortaleza, state capital of Ceará. During my graduation I lived in different cities of Brazil and in Ireland. To describe myself in a few words, I could say that i am happy, friendly, calm, a little bit shy, a quite responsible and focused. I have many friends in every place that I already lived, I learned how to connect quickly with people around me, I believe it will help me in my relation with my host family. Since I was little I like child, I am always arounded by my young cousins, my nephew and my niece, my relation with them influenced in my decision to become an au pair. I am an only child, but I am very close to my cousins who I consider as brothers, I am the oldest granddaughter of my maternal family, so I have always helped and cared for my younger cousins, Icaro (11 years old), Luíse (10 years) and Arthur (6 years). I have a very close relationship with Luise and Arthur, because they are the youngest and the age difference is bigger, since they were born I have always been helping my uncles take care of them. During my college vacation, I spent several days with them, being responsible for taking them to school, English class, karate, preparing their meals, helping with homework and taking them to cinema, their favorite program. Despite being an only child, my stepfather has two grandchildren whom I consider my nephews, Miguel (4 years) and Maria Luisa (10 months), I only see them twice a year because they live in Greece, so when I'm with them I enjoy the most of our time, playing in the pool, playing ball and watching a movie. My family is extremely important to me, especially my mother and my grandmother, they are all supporting me in the decision to become an Au pair. I also babysited the kids of my mother’s friends Miqueis 7 yo. Mikaele 4 yo and Miralle 4 months and took care of the brother of my friends Pedro 6 years old. In addition I worked as a vonluteer English teacher in a church to children and teenagers.
I have a degree in mechanical engineering recently completed and science and technology completed in 2016, both by the Universidade Federal do Semi-Árido. I believe that my phase of greatest personal growth was during college, it was the first time I lived alone, I learned to be independent, to cook and had more responsibility, I made many friends, I dedicated myself to disciplines and extension projects and participated in congresses. Among my work in college I also participated in campaigns to raise the interest of children through the academic world. My plan after the Au Pair is to do masters to specialize in the area of industry management, I like to be in contact with people to learn with them and teach what I know. I always had contact with children, regardless of age, I always enjoyed playing and helping them.
