TAÍS, 32 YEARS

Dear host family,

I am Taís, a very loving, responsible and flexible person who enjoys to work with kids and teens and build a relationship with them. I love to read books, to write, to listen to music, to go to the movies, to workout and to swim and I like to learn about different cultures and societies. I also like history, so I think it would be amazing to be in Europe and see what it has to offer.

About me:

I am Taís, a 27-year-old private teacher who studies literature from Brazil. I have previously studied law - I got a scholarship and I was a teaching assistant in civil procedure law -and worked as a lawyer but my passion for books and literature won out (I research african literature). I like to teach children, always motivating them, and play with them. I have been volunteering to teach children since I was fourteen years old and I was also the president of a youth group. I worked in a school for a few years in a project to help teenagers and kids write the school newspaper and learn math.

Currently I teach two kids who have Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) their ages are one ten- year-old girl and one eleven-year-old boy. I also teach a thirteen year-old teenager. I take care of my three year-old cousin. I love to spend my time with children and help them learn.

I have an older sister who is 28 and a lawyer as well. We have worked together in law before I went to study literature. My sister and I live in an apartment in Goiânia, a large city in the Midwest of Brazil, we have lived there since 2013. We usually share the housework (clean the house, take the rubbish out, wash the dishes, dust the furniture, cook...).We are 146 Km from our home town and parents. I have a close relationship with my family and love to be with my cousins.

I know how to ride bikes and I am familiar with public transit.

P.s: i am in a process to get a driver license .

Why do I want to be an au pair:

First of all I love kids and I find it easy to have a good relationship with them. After that it would be great to have a different experience living out of my country and learning about a new culture and experiencing everything it has to offer. I would be glad to have the opportunity to teach your kids a little bit of my culture (maybe some words and expressions in Portuguese, why not?) and also learn with them.
