GABRIELA, 28 YEARS

Dear host family,

My name is Gabriela, but my friends and family call me Gabi. I am 22 years old. I'm from a city called Curitiba capital of Paraná, in South of Brazil. Currently I'm an au pair in the USA, living in Oregon.
I am a only child and I live with my mom Vera and my dad Gabriel. We have two dogs Princesa and Bella. My parents always taught me how to be a great woman, responsible, kind, open minded, polite and correct and I keep this values in mind everywhere I go. I consider myself to be a chill person, I don't like conflicts, and I believe that communication is the key for a good relationship between host family and au pair.

At 6 years old I helped my cousin to take care of her son, I would give him bottles, change diapers amd even watch him for a bit, I've always been very mature for my age. The more I grew more I realized how much I love taking care of children.
When I was 12 years old I volunteered to take care of the babies in my church's nursery every Sunday, I worked there untill I was 17.
I also worked in a kindergarten taking care of 10 kids between 4 months and 5 years old. There, I used to take care of their hygiene, changing diapers, help them in the bathroom, we would play, read books, go to the playground outside, I used to feed them and put them to sleep. They were very energetic, I loved to wake up early and go to work. I loved working there, it was an incredible experience and I learned a lot. Among all the things I learned from working with kids was how to be more patient, responsible and to see the world with less selfishness and see everybody as equals.
Currently I am studying International Relations in college.
In my free time, I like to read, my favorite books at this moment are The Song of Ice and Fire series. I love pretty much any book, but my favourite genres are romance, sci-fi, famtasy and some of the classics.
I love playing in my electric keyboard and flute too. One of my favorite hobbies is to cook, I absolutely love cooking and baking. I want to do my best and I will take care of your children as if they were my own. I love taking care of children, I love watching them grow and develop, they are so honest and pure.
Currently I'm living in the USA as an au pair, taking care of 3 children, a 4 year old girl and 20 months old twin boys that I take care since they were born, I'm at my third year working with the same family. My experience has been amazing, I have the best host family and my kids have my heart. I love to spend time with them even if its not my work time. We have a great relationship and never had any disagreements. Me and the kids have a pretty nice routine and we have lots of fun during our days together. I can truly say that I have a family with them.
I hope that we can build a relationship as good as I have with my current host family, I'll give my best to make it work.

Being an au pair in United States has always been my dream, now that my dream came true, I realized that there's so much more in the world to learn and to see.
I believe that being an au pair in so much more than just to take care of a child, I think is a labour of patience, love and perseverance. I love what I do and I'm not ready to stop, so I decided to dedicate a little more of my life to help to raise one more awesome human being.
