PAULA, 31 YEARS

Dear future host family,

How are you? I hope everything is doing well !

My name is Paula, I’m 25 years old and I live in São Paulo, Brazil. I’m very responsible, happy, open minded, organized, patient, creative, careful, flexible and easygoing person.

About me
I live with my mom Graça, she’s 51 years old, she’s lovely, strong, kind, dedicated, great cook and give me all support about my exchange because she knows that this is my dream. She’s my example in life, because she never gives up and always does her best. My youngest sister Rafaela is 20 years old, she is funny, friendly, determinated and we are more than sister we are friends. We have a great relationship and help each other in everything. My dad passed away when I was 8 years old and I miss him so much, but I’m grateful for our time together and I know that he’s proud of the person I became.

I have a great relationship with all my family, they’re very important to me. We usually get together and have a lot of fun. We play together, share histories, tell jokes, take pictures, we cook something delicious or sometimes we just watch something.

In my free time I love spending my time with my family, I like driving, cooking, listening to music, watching movies or tv shows, going out with my friends, going to the park to ride bike, skating, I like dancing and I have degree in Jazz Dance Intermediate Level, go to church and I love reading, I read around 3 or 4 books a month.

My experience with children started when I was 13 years old and I used to help the other teachers in my church to take care of children. In the church, we used to sing, tell Bible histories, draw, dance, go to the park, play games and prepare snacks.

I took care of one year old boy, Calebe. He's an amazing child, funny, obey me and lovely. With him, I used to change diapers, feed him, play, sing, bath him, make bottles or foods, put him in the bed to sleep. I was greatful when I saw his first step and first word and it made me happy!
I also took care of an 8 years old boy, Guilherme, he's calm, happy and nice. I used to pick him up at school, bring to home, make lunch, help him with homework, play, prepare snacks and watch movies.
I took care of the lovely, beautiful and cute twins Meritxell and Luana. I started to take care of them, when they were 1 month. I used help their mother with bath; feed, prepare bottles, change diapers, put in the bed to sleep.
Also, I took care of two amazing boys, who are brothers João (7 months and Daniel 8 years old). I used to spend all day with them, playing, changing diapers, feeding, prepare meals, bath the baby, help Daniel with homework.
My currently experience is with Isabela, she’s the light on my days! I started to take care of her she was 5 months and now she has 15months, she has down sindrome and I had to learn so much with her. I spend all day taking care of her, so I feed her, change diapers, bath, prepare bottles and food, play, give her medicines and try to help with her development.
Taking care of these children I learned to be more responsible with a child, how to love a child as if it were my own, and especially I learned how children are beautiful for their innocence, sincerity and the pure love.
I hope to learn a lot with this experience. Something I believe in life is that we can learn everything, and even if you don't know how to do something, there is always a way or someone that can teach us.
Why do you want to be an au pair?
I want to be an au pair because it's a great opportunity to know a new language, know a new culture, study, know places, make new friends and the most important that is take care and love your beautiful children. I want to make a difference in your life! I don't want to be just the person who takes care of your children, I want to teach new things to them and learn things from them, I want to follow their development, the growth, to be part of the family, try to help you in everything and be a reliable person.
I wanna make a difference in your lives, share histories and experiences, learning about your family and culture and make our time together a beautiful memory.
