ALYSSA, 31 YEARS

I am a 22 year old nursing student, born and raised in New York with an American mother and Colombian father. I love to travel, and on one of my journeys a few years ago, I fell in love with Denmark- I have been returning ever since. It is my hope that after I receive my nursing degree in May of 2016, I can spend some time in Denmark for a much longer period, and have the pleasure of working as an au pair while doing so. I have made many friends in the area over the past few years- so while moving to Denmark would be quite the transition, in some ways it would also feel quite familiar, and like a warm reunion.

I would like to work as an au pair simply because- I love traveling, but more importantly, because I love children. I have been working for a wonderful family here in New York for the past 2 years, walking their 2 dogs by morning, and getting the 2 children off the school bus and settled in at home, by the afternoon. It has been a real pleasure to see these kids grow, and I would be happy to provide a reference at your request.

I like to think that I am very responsible and self- motivating, managing my nursing studies with a job watching children, and all the "organized chaos" associated with each!;) My mother has also been single for most of my life, which I always felt required more responsibility and maturity on behalf of myself and my brothers, to help maintain the household. Cooking, cleaning, and generally being self- sufficient were part of my upbringing.

That being said, I am also very laid-back and I love to have fun! I love art and all kinds of music, reading, writing, cartoons, nature and animals. I would be glad to do some cooking and cleaning for the family, change nappies, provide homework help, help with English, or simply just play dolls;) In return I just ask for some help learning Danish (this is very important to me)!

I do not smoke, I am CPR-certified, and I have held a New York State driver's license since I was 17 (unfortunately, I don't yet know how to drive with manual transmission though)
