JAROM, 23 YEARS

Hey Family! My name is Jarom, and I am from a small town in the U.S. in Northern Utah. Family is very important to me, and I make sure to take care of those I love. I am easygoing and enjoy life. I love helping people and seeing them succeed. I am hardworking, and I try my best at every task. I hope that I will be able to fit the needs and requirements of your family and we can have a great experience together. I am a very patient and flexible person. I am easy to get along with, and I try to get along with everyone I meet. I enjoy helping people and will often go out of my way to ensure they are alright. I enjoy having fun and playing, but I can also be serious when needed. I am an optimist and try to look for the good in every situation. I love animals, especially dogs. I play with my dog often, and spend a lot of time with him. I love to explore and learn new things. I hope that I will be able to learn more about and experience the Danish culture and language. My family and I are very close. My family consists of my Mom, Dad, four sisters, and me. I also have a dog named Arrow. We enjoy doing family activities together, including hiking, playing board games, skiing, swimming, and any other fun activity we have planned. I would love to feel as close to my host family as I am with my real family. I graduated from high school in 2019. I then continued my education at a technical college, where I graduated and received a certificate in Information technology. Since then, I have worked in a sales position and have learned many things, such as communicating better with people. After being an au pair, I hope to receive an education in physiotherapy and be able to help all people, young and old. During my free time I like to explore new places around me. My favorite activities include walking my dog, biking, hiking, camping, kayaking, etc. I also enjoy spending time indoors playing videogames and watching shows or movies. I love almost every activity I do, as long as I am with people I like. Additionally, I love to cook and bake. I often make meals and desserts for my family. I have some experience with kids. For six months in 2020, I babysat my neighbor's kids for a couple of hours each week. More recently, I have watched my nieces and nephew for my sister. I enjoy helping the kids I have met learn and grow. I enjoy seeing them accomplish something for the first time, no matter how small it is. Just knowing that I made a positive impact on them makes me happy. As an American, my native language is English. I have been independently studying Danish, on and off, for the past two years. I have around an A2 proficiency in Danish, and I hope to improve my Danish during my stay. I also have a basic understanding of Spanish. Since I was a kid, I have loved learning about different languages and cultures. Eventually, I fell in love with Scandinavian history and language. I decided to study the Danish language and learn more about Denmark and its culture. I would love to experience all parts of the Danish way of life, including the family and home aspects. I hope that I will be able to learn about and experience the Danish culture and explore your beautiful country. During my au pair experience, I would like to become a part of your family. I want to be able to do activities with you and experience the culture and language first hand. I understand there may be some housework involved, but I do not wish to become a replacement for a housemaid. I don't mind cooking, but I do not want to be responsible for every meal. I anticipate to mostly be caring for your children and doing other related duties. I am very respectful, but I ask to be given the same respect by both the parents and the children. I hope our expectations can align, and I look forward to meeting you and your kids!
