CECILIA, 21 YEARS

Hello! My name is Cecilia, I’m turning 18 in May, and I’m from a rural town in Northern California. I am currently finishing my last year of high school at a boarding school in Western Canada and loving it! In my free time, I like to bake and cook, go for walks, meet up with friends, and when I’m home, cuddle with my dogs! I’m a huge animal person :) At home, I live with my mother and older sister, who have both spent time living in Sweden, my mother as an exchange student(1979-1980) and Au Pair(1982-1983) in Bromma, and my sister as an exchange student in Danderyd(2017-2018). I got interested in the idea of being an Au Pair after I was an exchange student in Taby, Sweden, last year(2018-2019). Living in Sweden changed my life; I fell in love with the country and knew I had to return. Since I love working with children, becoming an Au Pair seemed like the perfect fit! I’ve worked with children seriously for the past two years as an assistant teacher at my town’s local Montessori preschool. It was joyful working with the kids, and it motivated me to become a camp counselor for the upcoming summer at a 7-week sleep-away camp for girls ages 6 to 12. I’m excited to become an Au Pair so I can return to my second, special home and do the work I enjoy most! I’m open to anything as a new Au Pair! I’ll take care of children of all ages, will happily help out with housework, cooking, and taking care of any family pets. I have an international driver’s license and have been driving for over two years, so I’m confident behind the wheel. My Swedish is okay, but definitely not fluent. When speaking to you and your children, it will most likely be a mix of English and Swedish in the beginning, but I am determined to become better. I have been taking Swedish lessons for the past two school years and would continue to strengthen my knowledge of the language while living in your household. After Au Pairing, I will continue my education and go to university and then hopefully continue to the Peace Corps!
