NADIA

We are a small family consisting of two people and one dog: my 6-year-old daughter, Cilia; me, Nadia, who works for a large pharmaceutical company nearby; and our Danish Spitz, Yuki, who is a very calm and affectionate family dog. We live in a small but very international town in southern Germany, close to Ulm. I was recently divorced, and since my ex-husband, who lives elsewhere, is currently unable to care for our daughter, I'm looking for someone to help make everyday life run smoothly. During August, I will need around 30 hours of childcare per week because Cilia's kindergarten is closed for the summer holidays. After that, the number of hours will be significantly lower. The main tasks will be picking Cilia up from school, spending time with her until I come home from work, walking the dog, and occasionally tidying up the kitchen after dinner. From time to time, I may also ask you to look after Cilia in the evening, including her bedtime routine, if I have plans or need to work late - this will not be a weekly occurrence. Cilia is an easy-going, kind, social, and curious little girl with no special care needs. She especially enjoys creative activities such as drawing, painting, and building things from cardboard. She also loves reading stories and playing board games. Cilia speaks both Danish and German fluently. I speak Danish, English, and German, so communication in any of these languages is no problem. We already have a cleaning service, so you will not be expected to do house cleaning. You will, of course, be responsible for washing your own clothes, but not ours. You will have your own private room, and a driving licence is not required. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children, is happy to play, read, do creative activities, and become part of our everyday life. At the same time, we fully respect that you will have your own friends, interests, and free time. We hope you will feel at home with us, but we certainly do not expect you to spend every Friday evening at home playing board games with us. In reality, I am looking for help quite urgently, so the sooner you would be able to start, the better. Although I need 30 hours of childcare during August, there will be four days when we, including the dog, will be on holiday together, and during the last week of August Cilia's grandmother will be looking after her. During those periods, your help will not be needed very much. As I do not yet know when my ex-husband will again be able to care for Cilia, I cannot say exactly how long we will need an au pair. At the moment, I expect the arrangement to last at least three months, and possibly longer.
