Dear potentially new au-pair,
We (Bart and Yvette) are a happily married couple (since May 2013) living in the Den Bosch area, which is actually sort of in the middle of the Netherlands. Since January 2016 and October 2017 we are the proud parents of our two sons Pieter (our first born) and Wouter. Two super cute boys! As we both have quite busy working schedules, we would love you to come and stay at our house to help us in taking care of our two little guys.

We live in a nice house with a big garden in a village (Sint-Michielsgestel) very near to the city of Den Bosch (10 mins by bus, 5 mins by car, 15 mins by bike and 1hr walking to the city center). Den Bosch is an old city that is centrally located in the Netherlands (20 mins by train to Eindhoven, 30 mins to Utrecht, 50 min to Amsterdam and 50 mins to Rotterdam). The house has three stories where you will be having your own bedroom and TV room on your own floor in the house and a private bathroom.

About us:
We are Bart (38 years) and Yvette (38 years), we met during our studies at university in 2003 and we got married in Italy in 2013. Bart is self-employed and is working to set up his own company in helping companies grow. Yvette is a financial audit Director working for PwC (one of the Big4 audit firms in the world). As we both work full-time, we are looking for a nice au pair that is able to help us to take care of our two little ones. This mainly entails picking up the kids up from baby day care and school during the week (Wouter finishes baby day care at 13h00 and Pieter finishes school at 14h00, except for Tuesdays when both of them stay in day care and school till 18h00).

We are easy going, down to earth people, who like to be energetic through sports (running/swimming/tennis) and being active during the weekends visiting our family and friends. We love to travel, to explore new cultures and get acquainted with local habits and over the years have visited quite some places across the world (both for travelling, working and studying).

In case there will be a match between us, you might become our fifth au pair already! Which is really exiting as so far it have all been really positive experiences, both from our side as well as from the au pairs side. :-)

About Pieter and Wouter:
Of course, it is all about Pieter and Wouter! The reason for our search for a spontaneous, responsible and sweet au-pair. They are both really happy and smiling boys (Pieter will turn five in January 2021 and Wouter will be a three-year-old after October 2020). They are very curious, and very naughty in a way that it is so difficult not to laugh. So far, they have actually been quite easy to handle, and at the moment they are really developing the capability to play by themselves and together. They are fond of exploring everything around, love to play outside, are creative (coloring, playing with clay etc.), like to build things (with Duplo of Lego or with their wooden train and rails).

Our expectations:
We would like to give our boys a more international world to live in. As we have also friends that are not Dutch, we both work abroad quite frequently and our world is globalising more and more, we would like them to experience the English language. In the communication with our previous au-pairs we used English as the common language which we want to continue to do. As such we do search for a native English speaker who is also interested to teach our boys English by reading to them, singing songs together, playing word games and just talk with them in English and correct them when needed.

What we are specifically looking for is:
- A sweet, spontaneous, easy going au-pair that is down to earth and responsible in taking care of kids and preferably has some au-pair experience/someone who has great affinity with kids
- A native English-speaking au-pair
- A non-smoking, responsible au-pair
- Someone who is intrinsically neat (keeping working and living areas tidy, storing away things after using, help the boys clean up their stuff at the end of each day, keeping her own bedroom and bathroom tidy etc.)
- As we live in the Netherlands and cycling is one of the main ways of transportation, someone who can ride a bicycle is quite convenient
- Someone who will stay for 12 months
- Someone who helps us in picking up the boys from baby day-care / school during the week and take care of them until Bart and Yvette will be home in the evening (pre-Covid schedule ;) )
- Someone who can cook simple but freshly prepared meals during 3 out of 5 weekdays (no worries, no haute-cuisine is expected!)
- Assist us in minor household tasks like keeping the kitchen and living istidy, emptying dish-washer, doing the ironing, do ad-hoc grocery shopping, do some vacuum cleaning etc. (Do note that once a week we do have a cleaning lady to help us with the bigger household activities like cleaning bathrooms, toilets etc.)
- Someone who is curious to explore new cultures: outside the time you will spend watching over the boys, we give you lots of flexibility. You can spend your free time how you would like. Explore the Netherlands, spend time with friends etc., as long as you let us know what your plans are.

Note that we adhere to the formal au pair requirements set in NL. Making sure we comply to max. number of hours we ask you to look after the boys, payment of pocket money within set rules within au pair program, arranging basic (health) insurances if needed, have you comfortably live in (board-lodging) etc.
