Dear Host Family

First of all I want to thank you for taking the time to read through my profile and for giving me the chance to give a little impression of myself to you as to why I would like to become an Au Pair.

My name is Nikita and I’m 25 years of age. My family and I live in a city called Johannesburg which is known to be one of the biggest cities in South Africa. I still live with my parents at this current moment as I am still studying an online course part-time for a degree in design and architect which I will be finishing off in November. I also have an older brother, who has moved and gone to live on his own with his fiancé and two kids.

I attended an all girls school from my grade 8 year up until my graduation day of high school. My favorite subjects were English, Afrikaans, Arts, History, Mathematics and Home Economics, I had also taken on Italian and French lessons as a third and forth language afterschool hours as I really enjoy learning new languages and I’m very fascinated with culture. I would really like to get an opportunity to Au Pair in a country where I am able to exchange cultural backgrounds with my future host family. I am also qualified to teach English as a Foreign language to those of no knowledge or of little knowledge of the English language.

In my spare time, I enjoy going to the gym, listening to music, reading, watching movies and baking. I also enjoy travelling and making new friends as well as learning new languages and getting to know different cultural backgrounds.

I am very passionate about education and I love teaching younger kids and helping them with homework, I am very patient when it comes to tutoring and mentoring children and even adults. I can spend hours explaining one thing over and over without losing my temper or patience, I always say to kids that no matter how many times they get it wrong, they will eventually get it right because practice makes perfect.

I love spending my time with children and I try to see the world through their eyes, I’ve always found it fascinating how a child’s mind works and how they think and do things. Unfortunately I don’t have younger siblings although I have two nephews, Jayden who is 9 years of age and Jordan who is 3 years of age. Sometimes, during school holidays and on days that I am free, I would go and babysit Jayden and Jordan. I would spend the entire day with them from 6am to 5pm, apart from all the usual babysitting routines, we would watch movies, bake and play games, I usually tend to aim at playing games which are related to education in order to allow them to think and use their minds independntly as well as engaging them into sport activity such as running and jumping and just being active outside.

There are several reasons why I want to become an Au Pair. The most important reason of course is that I love children. They represent all the innocence in life. I love seeing how they develop and learn new things each and every day and I love the idea of being apart of that growth.

Furthermore, I would like to improve my language skills in terms of practicing a new language and culture on an everyday basis. I would love to meet new people from different parts of the world and I’m sure that one year far away from home will allow for some more growth as a person.

I would describe myself as a very friendly, bubbly, cheerful, reliable and open-minded person. According to my friends and family I have a good sense of humor. I love to laugh and make other people laugh. I am a peoples-person and I love interacting and socialising.

I would be really excited to live with you for one year and get the chance to create new experiences for myself.
