Letter to the family Hello Host Family, My name is Tina, 23years old and I am writing to express my deep interest in becoming an au pair with your wonderful family. As a young woman from Kenya, I am excited about the possibility of joining your family and embarking on a journey of cultural exchange and personal growth. I am a native speaker in English making me an excellent candidate for families seeking to expose their children to new languages and cultures. My desire to become an au pair comes from my love for working with children and my eagerness to explore new cultures and countries. By becoming an au pair, I can combine my passion for childcare and adventurous personality, allowing me to learn from your family's unique experiences and traditions while providing attentive and loving care for your children. Experience Growing up with my siblings, including our younger sister, and cousins, we formed a close-knit family unit. Despite not being the eldest, I naturally assumed the role of caregiver and took care of my cousins, as well as our youngest sister, niece, and nephew when our parents went for work. From early on, I developed a deep affection for working with children and found immense joy in nurturing and guiding them as they grew. Being responsible for the well-being and upbringing of my cousins, sister, niece, and nephew has greatly influenced my desire to become an au pair. The love and connection I established with these young ones sparked a profound passion within me for working with children. Witnessing their development, supporting their growth, and being a positive influence in their lives have been incredibly rewarding experiences for me. I also have experience in taking care of other kids as an Au Pair in my country for 3 years. I have acquired valuable skills and qualities that are essential for working with children of 1-5years, 6-10years both gals and boys. Patience, adaptability, and a deep understanding of their needs and individual personalities have become second nature to me. I have come to appreciate the unique challenges and joys that accompany childcare, and I am driven by the belief that I can make a positive impact on children's lives. My skills like waking the kids up according to their schedules, bath them, prepare them for the day's activities whether its school, the park or the mall, feeding, playing age appropriate activities to have fun and learn, wash their toys, clean up their clothes and make their rooms tidy, giving them affection when they are emotionally down, watching their favorite movies with them. I also learnt how to guide them with their homework's, whether its drawing, coloring, arts, reading them a storybook when they sleep. Also I am down to help with the basic household chores like tidying the house, utensils, throwing trash, cleaning the kids bathrooms, laundry their clothes, washing their toilets and many small activities that would bring a positive impact in the house. I believe that immersing myself in a new culture will help me grow as a person and develop new skills. I also love the idea of being a part of a new family and building strong relationships with them. I believe that as an Au Pair, I can make a positive contribution to your family. I bring a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for childcare. As an experienced Au Pair, I understand the importance of communication, trust, and respect when working with a host family. My interests and hobbies include reading, movies, hiking, taking long walks, and swimming during activities. After my au pair experience, I plan to return home and start a restaurant business, sharing the different cuisines I may have been interested in abroad. My experience as an au pair will equip me with valuable life skills and insights to help me share with my people back home encouraging my niece, nephews and younger sister to join the program when they are of legal age.
